It's really odd how Jagex is going about "balancing" the combat triangle with this level-90 gear.
First, we get drygores in every melee style (slash stab crush).
Next, we get the ascension crossbow, which, while it can switch between 2h and dual-wield, has no bow counterpart.
Then we get a new wand and orb, which are cool, but suffer two problems: they have no staff counterpart, and they come with level 90 mage armour, which makes mage the most powerful (and arguably overpowered) discipline.
Not to mention the ascension crossbow requires level 95 slayer to obtain oneself, while the KK has no pre-reqs and you need to take a 50K hitsplat to face Vorago (clearly there is more to this).
Where is the level 90 bow? Why can't the level 90 magic and melee weapons alternate between 2h and dual-wield like the ascension crossbow? Where is the level 90 melee and ranged armour to balance this new mage equipment?
And ultimately, what is Jagex really doing here and why aren't they being transparent about it? I don't believe that they're really that obtuse.
