Mod Stu confirmed in another thread (QFC: 16-17-530-65106888 ) that once the Battle of Lumbridge ends, there are changes ready to factor in who won.

It's tricky to answer this one without spoilers.
Saradomin is the quest giver (essentially taking over the role of Sir Amik in the rework), whether you like him or not.
I would say that the default path is neutral, but you have opportunities along the way to voice your dissent, express your opinion or the god you support, ask probing questions and at key points affect the outcome, to a manageable degree.
If we compare it to the original quest, you're not going to be able to choose to side with the Kinshra, help them brew an invincibility potion and reduce Falador to rubble.
Choice at that scale would be impractically costly, so we have to stick to a fairly linear story with the assumption that the player is fundamentally a heroic adventurer who protects the innocent.
But you will be able to undermine Saradomin or support him, and some of the major decisions that affect the ending will revolve around difficult choices. I hope that along the way players will also get a more balanced portrayal of him - for good or ill.
