But if you continue on that snippet from the FAQ:

There are also other factors beyond our control which will cause issues for some, such as the incomplete or not fully optimised support for HTML5 and WebGL from web browsers and graphics drivers.

Having said that, the majority of you should find that the client works well and you will suffer no performance issues from using it.

So to me that says, we've done as much as we can with what we have, use, and know about so there's nothing more we can do in the trial phase. At some point they have to say it's ready for launch otherwise they'll not get any more info from testing as not more people will trial it. There's no piece of software that is released and is bug free, at much testing and tweaking is done as possible with help from testers but there are times when issues only show up after launch. Jagex have reached that stage and need to launch to get people to use it realtime so that they can continue to tweak it. I'd like to know what piece of software or game you have ever played that didn't have bugs or patches released to fix bugs after launch. Users are always bug testers.

@ Jkcpr ...only time will tell...

'...factors beyond our control...'

That is a phrase often used by incompetent people.

However, I do understand that 100% perfection is perhaps impossible but, at the same time, any errors that are not identified prior to the release should be address within a week or two after release - not months.

There appears to be a pattern where they release stuff and errors are not resolved until several months afterwards - this is unacceptable.

Anyway, I'm here to play a game; I'm not here to beta test - quite frankly that is a job for an experienced Quality Assurance Department - something they appear to lack.

I disagree with your view that 'Users are always bug testers.'

There is a difference between suggestions and feedback versus a qualified programmer who has access to the code.

But, if you enjoy working for free 'beta testing' by all means, knock yourself out - let me know when you've fixed the game for me.

One thought I had last night (and even I'm prepared to admit it might be bordering on a tin-foil hat conspiracy).

What if Jagex know that RS3 won't be ready any time soon, so they've said they'll release it in a few weeks in order to provoke the community into voicing their fears?

Closer to 'd-day' they push the release back a few months (maybe longer) and cite things like 'listening to the community' and 'we would never release something that wasn't 100% ready' ?

That way they can push back the release without looking like the bad guys.

Sounds cool, its been along time between Classic and rs3, have had some good times over the past years (and alot of bad times too) but i think its good that they are changing it, cause really there is few similarities between the Runescape of 2004 and the current version we play now and i really don't think its very fair to call the current version rs 2.0 anymore, old-school will continue on as the old rs 2 which is great.

Normally i hate the changes, but this actually doesn't seem too bad to me, hopefully they dont ***** things up even more than they already have with SoF and Combat changes, i dont think they were good updates... Only time will tell.

For the seasonal highscores, will there be a permanent higscores for the top monthly and weekly exp winners of all time? Also will there be a daily exp highscore as well because only weekly and monthly highscores were mentioned?

I think Kiwi Cacher got it in one....we will not release unless 100% ready....

Logged into Beta again....disappointed again...

If I had wanted RS1 with updated graphics I would have asked for it.

Game flow is still terrible...login time is still terrible...not even comparable to the current login and game flow.

If the speed in RS3 beta was even close to the current RS I would shutup...but they are not even close.

Jagex...don't do it...don't launch....the speed is terrible...even while still using Java and HTML5 is not up to scratch...

Don't show videos of people using HTML5 in your office when the beta server is just metres away...show videos of people at the other end of the world....picking up RS3 beta...spitting on it and throwing it out the window into moving traffic...

Not worth it...hasn't improved significantly since the release in April...shame shame shame....don't release it...wait another 3-6 months...maybe technology will improve a bit more by then....
