''We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape.''
''At times in 2012, it felt like the SoF and SGS releases dominated our release schedule and news feed. We can do better.'' - Mod Mark Gerhard, Jan. 2013
Normally I do not take a part in forum discussions but I felt that I am fed up with jagex policy.
I understand both sides of pro and anti SoF, but releasing promo after promo, containing content with questionable quality is a bit disrespectful to whole RS player base, regardless of it's stance towards Yelps and his spinning wheel .
I understand that Jagex couldn't care less about free players and most items are exclusively for members, but why paying players would need ( barely) cosmetic armor and weapon which goes up to level 60?
I do not wish to rant, just to comment.
Paying community should 'vote with their feet' instead trying to convince company, which is completely deaf to suggestions of the players.
I am aware that many players are enraged and use 'keyword phrases' instead of constructive criticism, yet many arguments are valid and not adressed for a long time.
It is not a matter of SoF preferences-'spin if you like, nobody forces you', but rather more serious and deeper issue ( bugs and questionable content that is being released - if/when it finally is released, of course).
Failing to realize that killing your own revenue stream leads to bankrupcy is a little bit arrogant.
Later on, add in game content, new quests, new bosses, new co-op stuff, instead of fixing a game that wasn't broken to begin with. I hope jagex suffers eternal fire
