"There’s never been a better time to try your hand at the Squeal of Fortune, so get those extra spins - who knows what prizes you could win? "
I'll tell you what prizes i can win... 1k gold and a small constitution xp lamp.
STOP WITH THE REAL WORLD TRADING ALREADY!!
or at least give me some value for my 20 bucks. There's constantly people whispering me i can get a guaranteed 30million gp for 20 bucks on some random website..
The fact that you introduce RWT, i can live (even support!) with. But gosh, you honestly fail at it so hard.

I honestly think that Jagex is unintentionally promoting RWT (Real World Trading) through the SoF. Really.... "Buy spins"? If they really want to have people "buy spins", people should be able to buy them using ingame money instead of irl money, otherwise not only are they ripping people off, but they are breaking their own rules. They may as well be selling gold by the millions.

I never reacted on the forums, because I usually don't care anymore how Jagex makes money, but this update is an excellent example of RWT and therefore Jagex must be stopped.
You claim not to encourage children in addicting them to gambling, but from my point of view that's exactly what Jagex is doing right now with the Squeal of Fortune.
Sure, juridically speaking anybody gets a prize from the Squeal of Fortune, but who will see 50gp or 10 uncooked apple pies as a prize if you also can win Godswords etc?
This is another sign from a desperate company who see less and less profit of membersubscriptions every day. Please undo this and return to be a respectable and honourable company. With SoF eventually you are crippling this game. I suspect an end in 2014. Maybe sooner if you introduce more of this kind of updates.

what upsets me most is that after a big ol' blowout about players gambling with other players not so long ago, JaGex decieded that squeal of fortune was a plausable idea. Players saying that buying spins is just a form of micro-transaction, sadly, I disagree. A micro-transaction by definition of it's own name, is the trading of a small amount of money, for something you want. What you are being sold however, is the remote chance that you might get a random rare item, and most likely not even the one you wanted.
Now onto the subject of children gambling. The fact is this: whether parents are paying for spins or not, the exposure is still there. Sadly, it is not down to the parents, in fact, can many of us truly say that if we showed this to a parent, they would even know what they were looking at? I know mine wouldn't!
I think we can all agree, that the inclusion of spins as quest rewards, was a poorly concieved idea also.
In my opinion, the most sensible thing to do with SoF is this:
Remove it from the the tab bar. Remove the daily spins. Add a location ingame to redeem SoF tokens obtained through combat, skillling and minigames. Make the tickets rarer. and finally, make the rate of getting a decent reward higher.
That way, it works in a similar fashion to the rare drop table, but is more open to everybody.
Thanks for your time,
~Lewa

This is such a joke.
Jagex, if you really need to make more money, why don't you raise the monthly members fee?
I would much rather pay a dollar or two more a month to play, rather than see this kind of stuff.
I know, you justify this by 'well, if SoF wasn't popular, people wouldn't play it.'.
That's not actually a very valid argument.
Some people will always do it, some always won't.
But IMHO, you should just get rid of the SoF, and bring in microtransactions, which I'm sure you are getting ready to do anyway. I won't pay for anything anyway, but for those who will, I'm sure they would much rather have something they want that they can buy for a fixed cost, rather than something on the wheel, that they have a random chance of getting, that they might end up paying way too much for.
So please -- drop the pretense, acknowledge that the SoF was the test for introducing microtransactions, and go that way.
End the charade.
Thank you

Really Jagex? Must you make us all suffer? The SOF its self is terrible. Limit it to 2 spins per day + spins obtained by skilling and it would be so much better. SAY NO TO MICRO TRANSACTIONS
