There are those who would question the legitimacy of the reported number of accounts, Jagex has never been one to delete accounts, no matter how long someone has been inactive, whether inactive for 1 month or seven years. I might be wrong but I believe they hope those accounts creators will one day return to the account, and potentially decide to upgrade. (Thank you Jagex, you know I disappear for years and come back, I love having my account still here waiting for me.) The only exception to this rule is when someone is banned, if I'm wrong feel free to tell me.
In my rs lifetime i've had many low levelled accounts, three in particular were wilderness scouts, 3 were pures, 1 was an professional sitter who'd sit and strangely get players of all levels to sit and chat, then there were many whose ********* I forgot after so long, and even some i've forgotten the name.
Now how many of you have done the same? All these accounts add up, so again making it seems as if the majority of the 200M accounts they are about to have came from bots, is a bit biased. Honestly, ask yourself, have many accounts have I had in my rs lifetime? Then look at your brother posting right under you, and wonder how much they've had.
200M accounts is being viewed in a negative light, well we've all contributed to that number, so what do we do moving forward? What can we suggest? Well we could ask Jagex to delete accounts that haven't logged on in so long, that day would be sad for me since as I mentioned, I go away for years and return, but oh well. Another suggestion, I played a particular superhero online game on the PS3, they have a set amount of accounts you can create. If you reach the limit, you either sulk and deal with it, or delete one of the accounts yourself. At the end of the day, all of the alloted accounts are registered under your one PSN registry name. Something like that can be implemented in RS, but then there would be complaints of Jagex restricting our freedom to create.
