The performance impact will be lower than what it is currently...I believe so if you can run runescape fine now on max (Which I'm assuming you can with a 7950) you will definitely be able to run it on the html5 client on max too.

I'm not worrying about my i7 3770k and 2 way-SLi G TX 660 ti.

I think this update will make the game look nicer than ever. Even though I personally started playing Runescape because of its great mechanics and unique play style I would like new graphics. I am really looking forward to this, and think it will be the breakthrough Runescape has needed for so long. It hurts me that so many people have left Runescape (I am glad someone came back because of the oldschool though) and I think this along with the new skills coming later this year will make people want to come back and play the game the once loved. I really like that they also put effort into making sounds match the awesome graphic. I am definitely signing up for this one! BTW even though this account was created this year I have played since 2006, just so you guys know I am serious about this game :)

Thank your Jagex for bringing Runescape into the new year of 2013, and may this year be evaluational in the world of Gielinor. PS Sorry for bad English.

Improvements you will notice:

Greatly improved Draw diastance:
Meaning the game loads much further and you can see much further. (You will also be able to remove the Fog detail option to see much further. I believe enabling Fog will be for lower end PC's that can't handle the larger draw distance whereas currently it's used to hide the unloaded areas of the game).

Streamlined loading:
Meaning you wont have loading screens while running across the world when the client needs to load the next area. (Or greatly reduced amount of loading)

Better shadows:
Shadows will be cast on water and in richer detail, objects cast more and better shadows.

Brighter and darker colours:
The color pallet for HTML5 is much richer and deeper than the current client meaning much better and a wider variety of colours.

Greatly Enhanced Detail:
The new HTML5 client will have MUCH more detailed textures and objects. You will notice extra details on almost all textures and objects in the game that you wont see on the Java client.

I also think I heard something about weather effects and sky details in one Video, so we will have to wait and see about that. This would also mean a more dynamic camera that can look upwards and not just pan down and around.

I already had an email to register but the link takes you to the normal login page.

This sounds more like a phishing email than an official one from Jagex, considering I don't know of anyone else getting this email you should probably change your pass word as soon as possible if you entered any details on the page it sent you to, to prevent anything from happening to your account.

I may not be right and it might be a safe link, but sounds suspicious and I think you'd better be safe then sorry :)

I agree with Tobs74. It definitely sounds like a phishing e-mail.

Also carefully check the URL of the link, if it doesn't lead to runescape.*** or services.runescape.*** then it's a phishing e-mail.
