I don't mean to sound blunt, but I hope that people won't flood in registrations when they're rocking a Pentium 4 or Celeron with 512Mb of ram... It will make the validity of the Beta test somewhat obsolete if we have pages, upon pages by computer illiterate Joes on why the game isn't working or performing well. I have played many Beta games and most of which have required DX dumps to verify the applicants hardware. However I understand where the devs are coming from.
In some ways, I hope RS moves into a more graphically demanding state, would love to see it strut some nice visuals, particle effects and post-pro
Lens flares!!!
I myself am running:
i7 3770k @ 4.5Ghz
16Gb Corsair Vengeance @ XMP 1600Mhz
Gigabyte GTX 680 @ 1280/3558
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
Corsair 120Gb Force GT SSD
Corsair 600T case
Corsair Hydro H80i (Cpu cooler)
Thermaltake Toughpower XT (Modular) @ 775w
If a dev could answer this, I'd be interested to know.
I'm pretty sure that Java is capable of tessellation, so how about some terrain tessellation? I think it would look awesome!
Also, I think some hardware rendered ambient occlusion as a selectable option would be absolutely fantastic. It would give characters and grassy areas far more depth...
