Oh Jagex, why do you never come to me directly you know when I am not trolling I actually talk a lot of sense (ok maybe not).
There is so much wrong with this idea I dont know where to begin. So an RS 2007 server or two gets the go ahead either free or at a price then what, who will actually use it for any length of time? Jagex will get initial interest from ex PKers, people who hated EoC and rage quit and to a lesser extent members who did not start until after 2007.
The PKers will have little fun, levelling as fast as they can to go kill some level 10 noob for a bronze axe as no one has any money/items etc, the haters and the new members will not remain happy for very long, why NO UPDATES. The minute Jagex does an update to the 2007 version it will not be the 2007 version anymore nor will it be the 2008 version unless Jagex plans to remake all of the same errors again (I would not be surprised if they did).
A RS 2007 server could offer some small level of fun in the form of trolling (get in first and create a new version of Zer0 with mandatory crashes where you compliment the people you crash and give them gifts for example before politely leaving) but even I would get bored of that quite quickly.
The saddest part of this idea is that Jagex is missing one huge opportunity, they should make RS 2007 part of the current game.
Time travel is possible in Rusecape (meeting and making history quests show this) so why not have it that if you have done these quests you have the ability to travel back in time to the RS 2007 server taking with you your current levels and items, remain in clans etc but only being able to use what existed at that time (as they do with FtP) and levels gained would be gained in both versions.
If Jagex feels the need to make an honest buck from this, it could be one of their beloved Solomons purchases where those that want it can buy an item that lasts for a month which they use to time travel.
