Oh Jagex, why do you never come to me directly you know when I am not trolling I actually talk a lot of sense (ok maybe not).

There is so much wrong with this idea I dont know where to begin. So an RS 2007 server or two gets the go ahead either free or at a price then what, who will actually use it for any length of time? Jagex will get initial interest from ex PKers, people who hated EoC and rage quit and to a lesser extent members who did not start until after 2007.

The PKers will have little fun, levelling as fast as they can to go kill some level 10 noob for a bronze axe as no one has any money/items etc, the haters and the new members will not remain happy for very long, why NO UPDATES. The minute Jagex does an update to the 2007 version it will not be the 2007 version anymore nor will it be the 2008 version unless Jagex plans to remake all of the same errors again (I would not be surprised if they did).

A RS 2007 server could offer some small level of fun in the form of trolling (get in first and create a new version of Zer0 with mandatory crashes where you compliment the people you crash and give them gifts for example before politely leaving) but even I would get bored of that quite quickly.

The saddest part of this idea is that Jagex is missing one huge opportunity, they should make RS 2007 part of the current game.

Time travel is possible in Rusecape (meeting and making history quests show this) so why not have it that if you have done these quests you have the ability to travel back in time to the RS 2007 server taking with you your current levels and items, remain in clans etc but only being able to use what existed at that time (as they do with FtP) and levels gained would be gained in both versions.

If Jagex feels the need to make an honest buck from this, it could be one of their beloved Solomons purchases where those that want it can buy an item that lasts for a month which they use to time travel.

Continued....

PKers could once again walk the wildy with a chance to kill for decent drops, staking would be quick and clean and not a marathon, people new to RS after 2007 could go an see what all the fuss way and haters can hate two versions at once. No need for people to start all over again. Other servers could be added for other years RS 2009 for instance which would cause the economy of all servers to go insane as once again claws become useful. Long forgotten bosses would get a new lease of life as people scramble to get their drops. Those wanting free trade just hop back to 2007 and head to Fally or Varry East bank. In short combine the best (and worst) bits of each version rather than segmenting them.

Yes this would be work for the designers and would reduce the updates we currently get but it could also be the BIG RS update of the year.

@Deus Nemesis I feel your pain and so does everyone else who has been playing and petitioning for old school servers but it's the best thing to do.

It would be pointless to train on the old school servers if you could just train on the EoC (much easier) version of RuneScape and carry all your stats over. I know that a lot of your training was likely done back in 2007 or earlier but if they let some people transfer their stats over it would be incredibly unfair not to let everyone else. Then if everyone does it what's the point? You don't get the experience of 2007scape if you start with all your stats.

Instead of thinking it as a huge grind to get back to where you are try it out and just have some fun!

God, a forum or Jagex moderator needs to give RSKING a two week long forum ban. He's seriously acting like a child, repeating the same crap over and over again.

No one wants to read your BS. No one likes looking at your purchased Tetsu Helm.

If you don't have anything constructive to add.. If you're going to just keep posting the same thing about whiners and bots and telling everyone about "FALLY!!!", then get the hell off my forums.

Are you kidding me??? Mods have clearly mentioned that for the people that don't like this idea, you can simply just not vote and continue to play on the up to date rs! We're lucky to even have Jagex come forward with these servers so be grateful for that. This change will not effect the modern rs community experience in any way so you don't need to worry about this. After all it's the players choice.

just guessing but if ''RARES' are tradeable every1 would try and get as much as they can then just leave it in there banks hoping for it to rise millions in the future , unless its 1 rare per person. :) that might even yout the price of rares.

"You want to get the benefits of training with post 2007 updates but don't want those updates in the game? That seems pretty hypocritical to me"

I think what some people want is their account data from that time period, I agree with you about those that do want what you mentioned though, that would just be stupid.
