@Skaarjo It's nothing to do with learning the new combat system, it's about playing the RuneScape we loved. There's something about the 06-07 era that was just amazingly fun, some say it's purely people looking through nostalgia goggles but I disagree.

You wouldn't be splitting the community a whole lot. People who dislike EoC and the current game probably don't play anyway. The 07 servers will more than likely be bringing back a lot of older players (Or people who quit with the EoC update).

This all started with mod Marks post asking what we liked about old and new runescape. the outcome was an overwhelming 'we prefer old' but the online figures prove this ( taking into account many are bots )
Why is there not a vote on which game we prefer ? why is it that only a 2007 version has survived ( very convenient ) if we don,t like EOC just switch off the update, simple. Also why do we have to pay more for a game that requires little in the way of jagex staffing whilst EOC players are costing the company a fortune in development and updates?
I also agree with many of you that we all have to re-join to vote, clever money-grabber for the company.
Also why do we not get our equipment and stats transferred as we, the long time players were the ones that funded the growth of the game to find our cash was spent on EOC, something we did not want ?
On a last note I must thank jagex for giving us a small chance albeit very cleverly manipulated to gain real cash and reduce a fair vote.

Helloooo, I noticed you say the only backed up version of the game you have is from august 2007?

are you for real?

So when the EoC was added to/replaced the current (at the time) live version of the game, You didn't back up the game at all, so if it all would of gone horribly wrong you would of only been able to restore the game to the "backed up" version in august 2007, where we all would of had to start from scratch?

You see I find that incredibly hard to believe, as from a business point of view that is the most ignorant, stupidest, dumbest thing anyone could of done as if the above would of happened, it would completely jeopardize your company, and would most likely (definitely) cause you to of lost every single paying customer you have?

Honestly I'm calling your bluff on this one..

And if that isn't the case, What's wrong with restoring a later version such as 2009/2010/2011 etc

I am a former member of runescape. i say former because i am no longer member obviously, but i would beyond a shadow of a doubt renew membership to vote in favour of old RS coming back.

i first started playing the game in 2004 and put many years into the game, only ending my membership for the last time late 2011. the last 3 years of runescape ruined the game for me, with the botting, dungeoneering and constant changes to the game i was put off.

For me 2007 runescape would be ideal. there was nothing i disliked about the game. but i do have a few questions, like:
Q1. will the wilderness be returned to the original PvP state it was?
Q2. Will god wars exist? (i don't mind either way but i'm confused about it)
Q3. What will be of the duel arenas and stacking?
Q4. Will construction, Hunting and Summoning be in the game? ( my memory is blurry as to when they came into the game.)
Q5 What dragon items existed at this specific date?


i really wish that we are able to reach our goal and some of our veteran players can come back. i personally know 8 people who said they would play the game if there was a "old runescape" so i'm sure it would bring in good business

i love the sound of this cos this is when i first played rs. i have good memories of this time and will love to check this out. but i would not prefer to play it over the current game. for me it is the graphics lol. i remember how simple it was omg that is why i dont play classic. so for me i will love to take a walk down memory lane :) but really doupt id pay for it now that rs has improved a whole chunk since then umm minus mini transactions of course and all the other money schemes etc ...

would love a walk down memory lane but not really over fussed about it
