I have mixed feelings here.
I absolutely love the idea of having old servers back, I think a lot of people do. With that said, everyone that indeed played that time, or even up to 2008 or 09' has probably moved on with their 'lives' and wont have a whole lot of time to relevel their stats again. I agree in the sense that 'old' 99s were harder to get since a lot of updates ruined the feeling of those that accomplished those 99s the old way. With that said, im not sure if i like the idea of getting those stats the hard way again.
Then again, players make a good point that it would seem fair for everyone to start from scratch, i find it interesting in the sense that everyone will wanna play and skill up. I like the idea of items being of value, skills being respected, But once the big xp gaps come in for skills, past 80 or so, im not sure how long people will keep at it.
I stopped playing RS like 3yrs ago, and came on and off, membership renewels for a month or two then leave, rinse and repeat. Here i am, resubscribed about 1 week ago, and i see news about old RS. Being that i felt 'noob' with 'old' stats and items (bandos, ags, arma, etc) i figured i'd try to catch up with the newer prayers, potion vials and dungeoneering. Then i experienced HOW EXTREMELY BORING it was for me to mine from 68-70... i thought i could possibly get to 81 for potion vials in a month or so, but it just felt boring, im not sure i'd wanna lvl up old stats that i didn't really enjoy.
So im not sure wether to continue trying to 'catch up' with the new, or sit back and wait for the 'old'.. only time will tell.
Part of me feels happy, part of me second-guesses the 'old'. hmmm...
