Jagex,
I began playing RuneScape roughly 8-10 years ago. I came back about one week ago, because my wife started getting into the game, and we always game together. The 2007 version of RuneScape will be the reason that my membership never subsides. Playing even now, while I understand that this is RuneScape 3's development we're talking about, pains me. Please take this as no insult, RuneScape is a colossal achievement amongst gaming period; but it will never be the same RuneScape I played throughout my childhood. If the restoration of RuneScape 2007 goes through, I believe there will be many roads to trek and obstacles to overcome. Such as previous comments stated. Namely--The economy. Rares, etc. I think that if this does go into effect, and 750,000+ votes do occur, that certain previous events in RuneScape history should happen once again, in real-time. Such as Party Hats, Santas etc. That will be the element, if mentioned before the polls close, that make or break this development.
I posted a very heartfelt letter on the forums on my old account, Jwjp93. This was about a year or two ago when I came back with a 1-month membership card for nostalgic purposes, and the Taverly-in-Ruins update came out. That day, I wrote my letter stating why I was leaving RuneScape for good. Obviously I've come back since, but that's because the bones of this game leave an imprint in any players mind, whether or not they mock the ideas, past or present.
I will be voting yes to bring back RuneScape 2007, and I want to thank you for even considering this. Even while I play, it still intrigues and captures me--But the, dare I say Adrenaline, used to be real. Despite my age and how I've grown in ten years, I will still get that rush with RuneScape 2007. From a veteran player, you have my gratitude. Whether or not this goes through, I won't forget your consideration to the original RuneScape, and not just the genesis.
Thank you,
Joshua Powers
