Wow I am surprised that Jagex would consider something like this. I started playing at the end of 2005 and I liked the game. I miss random events, the old diaries, and I was disappointed in many of the quest changes over the years. I was not fond of Dungeoneering, EOC and some other updates that have come along. Although I can't remember just how it was back then, I would definitely play.

For all of you whiners, you really have no idea how much work it takes to make software work properly. Even after extensive testing bugs still show up that need to be fixed. Not only that the efforts to create the graphics for the game, even just a small update. (I am a programmer myself) I admire that the people at Jagex can ignore so many negative people.

The real question is does Jagex have a save of everyone's character from 2007? Because starting over from scratch really would suck... I mean everyone who wanted to pk or use high level pvp content would have to spend a few months no lifing pest control.

I would like to know which of the following will happen:
-accounts from Main rs transferred
-old accounts that existed at that time with their levels at that time loaded
-no accounts and all accounts will have to start at level 3.

Each has ups and downs, many veterans that quit have very busy lives now and do not have the time to start from scratch.

On the flip side, what made Runescape so amazing when I started playing was that if you spent 3 months getting 99 magic or defence or strength, you were unstoppable. The game was so amazing simply because it was in its infancy and no one even had every 99.

EDIT: I would love to see a couple servers that reset every year, bringing back that amazing part of the game.

The other topic of discussion is, what will happen to rares? I see the best way to handle it being to make them untradeable or highly available.


Fantastic to see this happening! I think it will help to move Runescape forward hugely. Time to start telling everyone that quit and putting up youtube videos!!!
