Old School RuneScape Anyone?

I think it's remarkable that Jagex is actually taking this seriously. Players have been asking for an older server for quite a while now, and I feel this is a very fair compromise. I think a the reintroduction of a 2007 Runescape is a very good idea.
If Jagex requires current membership to play, then the finances of having a dedicated team towards a version of this game will be very sustainable. I'm confident a good number of players would also return who enjoyed this game from that period as a result of nostalgia.
My only fear is that people are setting too high hopes. The idea of playing Runescape around this era has very much been glorified. I'm not saying 2007 wasn't an awesome game; in many ways I think it is more enjoyable than the current game, but I hope that the level of disappointment folks face from realizing that the past will never be the exact same wont shock too many people. Even if the game is an exact replica of this time period, factors such as a different community, it being 6 years into the future, etc will affect the 'feel' of this game.
It would be nice to see a dedicated section of the forums for this community when/if a 2007 version does come out. Bravo to Jagex for listening to players on this issue. Awareness to issues like this does wonders for reassurance.

I support the release of a "new-old" Runescape, but you will still have to fight alot of problems before you can release it.
You need to find a safe anti-boting system for this client.
You should not update the client at all as I think you need to work alot to improve the EOC and I bet everyone that will be playing on this servers will love it just as it is (in case there are no bots).
And when I am already writing I would like to see a fully unlocked event rewards when i visit old Diango and maybe some untradable rares, I just have a feeling that everyone in the game one day had a dream about having a phat in all those wounderful colours
