There's going to be huge groups of people now spamming this on current RS I can see it already! :D

There will probably be a few dedicated clans or new clans made specifically to promote the 2007 server and advertising to get people to vote. I will be doing that most likely as the real Runescape coming back has always been my dream, and now it's real.

:)

Not that Jagex is or ever will read this seeing as I write a post and there ends up being ten other pages by the time it's posted.. But I will post it again:

As much as I enjoyed "old school" and as much as I hate EOC now, I still would not play "old school" for the sheer fact that we're being forced to start from scratch. If this is the case, then I might as well play classic which is free and I get to start off from scratch. We wanted to be able to play like back in the day WITH our current account, not with an account that we'll have to spend another 5 years of our lives to max out. That's ridiculous. Also, I believe it is unfair that only members are eligible for voting seeing as half of the community cancelled their memberships as soon as EOC came out. You're better off opening the vote to everyone who has purchased membership for at least a month, this seems more viable. I will be voting and expressing my opinion, but I will not be playing "old school". Not worth my time having two completed accounts. I like the fact of having different saving options for the two different servers. It should be sort of as when EOC beta was out where we could take our main account and items to the beta and use them. That's how it should be in the new server. Except once the main account has been imported into the other server, no more updates can be made from the main game to the "old school" server. That is to say, you import your account once and with those stats and items is where you will start in "old school". Newer items such as nex gear and such should be converted into gp seeing as we won't be able to use any of it and of course, newer skills such as dungeoneering will be null but at least we will be able to retain our money and skills in both servers. That's the only way I will play in the "old school" server.

I don't rant much anymore-hell I don't use the forum as much as I use to. Now, however, I see a real need to. Today it was posted that Jagex would allow a vote for a separate server for 2007 Runescape. Although I am 100% against going backwards instead of taking a step forward, I can appreciate why Jagex did this not only from a business perspective, but from every perspective: new money, old players coming back, and, of course, a vocal part of the community wanting it. The reasoning for this is not hard to understand. It's the ironic, acrid part close to the end:

"This will be a members-only vote"

I'm not crying because I can't vote if I so wished to (my main account does have membership), it's that Runescape was built, 2007 was built, by the Free Players of this game. I understand finances and the money involved in a project like this, but Free Players pay their dues as well. There are no longer banner advertisements that you must click in order to get additional revenue, you place video ads that pay the money directly.

To exclude a whole section who built this game, who built you, is inexcusable.

People are getting way to greedy now that hey have seen this. Stop telling jagex to make it a different year or complain that you will have to start from scratch, you should be happy that jagex is actually doing something. People these days are never pleased with what they receive, remember the old saying, "you get what you get and you don't get upset," lets start following this.

I'm curious regarding peoples accounts, more precisely player stats.
I believe you should have the option to carry over account stats to 2007 servers, just like they did with the E.O.C Beta, but have a limitation on it.
By which i mean no items get carried over to the new servers, just player stats.
Remove what skills were not out then, Reason i say this is because I'm betting top dollar that no one wants to have to train another account all over again, I know i don't.

Other then that, I believe it is a brilliant idea, got my vote before poll is out.
Maybe people will stop whining now?

Would be great to get some authorized feedback on this idea.

I'm fairly certain that isn't possible, and is very unfair regardless.
