I don't rant much anymore-hell I don't use the forum as much as I use to. Now, however, I see a real need to. Today it was posted that Jagex would allow a vote for a separate server for 2007 Runescape. Although I am 100% against going backwards instead of taking a step forward, I can appreciate why Jagex did this not only from a business perspective, but from every perspective: new money, old players coming back, and, of course, a vocal part of the community wanting it. The reasoning for this is not hard to understand. It's the ironic, acrid part close to the end:
"This will be a members-only vote"
I'm not crying because I can't vote if I so wished to (my main account does have membership), it's that Runescape was built, 2007 was built, by the Free Players of this game. I understand finances and the money involved in a project like this, but Free Players pay their dues as well. There are no longer banner advertisements that you must click in order to get additional revenue, you place video ads that pay the money directly.
To exclude a whole section who built this game, who built you, is inexcusable.
