i dont agree with the starting "fresh" idea, you don't go from level 1-99 in two days. i don't find it fair having to throw away all of our stats just because you guys messed up the current game. we worked years for all of our stats, it was time consuming. nobody wants to restart on their character. we are VETERANS who made this game come out this far and apparently without us the game has been dead ever since this EOC update. wilderness is DEAD and the few people pking are noobs who just joined the game.

IF we start "fresh" make it like a private server that we can level up quick.

you guys say EOC have been a great improvement to the game yet the numbers don't lie. before you would get 200k players online easily now not even 90k.

There is an ARMY of WHINERS, over 500,000 from the illegal ps that was shut down that brought this all about, + Wreckers 50,000+

Its a done deal.

Might as well plug in the servers.

There will easily be 1-3 MILLION online at any given time on the server from 6 years ago.

Three possibilities

- The current accounts are moved over, where a maxed account has nothing new to do
- The accounts are restored, so players have to repeat their more recent efforts
- The accounts are reset, making it kinda pointless.

Although I like the idea of replaying older content, I think this is best expressed in updates like the dominion tower.

Furthermore, there were a few updates like the GE/RuneSpan/GWD that are still popular - it's just that the majority of updates and all the SOF/SGS crap annoys us. Rather than reverting to 2007, I'd rather see certain updates be modified or removed.

The most recent slayer contracts are a joke. Special contracts give 20% slayer experience for 20K combat experience. I would rather level up slayer five times as quickly and get combat XP along the way, since it's much faster to train standard combat skills. Even special contracts have little benefit for maxed combat players, and these can ONLY be completed at the slayer tower.

EoC has seen some slight improvements, but if it wasn't for bosses being the sole source of good cash atm, I'm certain that most veterans would be hard at work training their skills instead of combat.

2007 was a great year for skillers, but I've already been there, done that, paid for that, and don't intend to pay more every month for a single backup restore, where no further updates will ever be received.

I think it's fair to say that RuneScape STARTED going downhill from 2007, but we're still here because we still enjoy the basic gameplay, and some of the updates are pretty good, so we choose the content we enjoy and stick to it. EoC was game-changing, limiting those choices, but without its modificaiton or removal, I guess we're stuck with it for now.

Jagex doesn't give a crap if people are throwing tantrums. They only care about the $$$$$ so in order to get back the 100k+ people they lost to the eoc, they are reconsidering their mistake. It's basic marketing. When you want to gain more interest in your product (runescape), you do it in means that would only gain people and benefit the company. Not lose all your long time committed buyers and gain maybe 1/6 of what you use to have.

Ok this "promise" of an "old runescape" is complete garbage and all of you at Jagex are completely ridiculous. "2007 servers will come back as a separate entity to the current Runescape game, with an additional membership fee of around $15. These servers will receive no content updates and only critical maintenance." This is your promised "level 1" voting efforts. An additional $15 for membership. Are you kidding me? How selfish and greedy can you get? You create this amazing game, and then destroy it, and this is how you repay a once-loyal fan base? That's just completely disgraceful. You say you pride yourself on improvement, but what improvement? Improvement in being complete wretched souls or improvement in being total jerks? If I'm not mistaken, you say that you saw " a jaw dropping 1.4 million votes" in the vote for the return of free trade and the wilderness. Did you also dually note how EVERYONE was allowed to vote and EVERYTHING wasn't COMPLETELY OBLITERATED by then? Runescape averages about 75,000 players online a day. So how do you expect, not 750,000 , not 500,000 , not 250,000 but for God's sake 50,000 votes when ONLY MEMBERS are allowed to vote? It's just embarrassing it really is. I'd be shocked if 50,000 people even payed for this s***-storm of a game anymore. I was a proud and loyal customer (on and off, respectively) for nearly 6 years. I got excited about this update (via a friend) until I read the dirty truth about 2007 Runescape's "return". Once you realize that you've driven out the better portion of your loyal fanbase, once you realize that you've decimated tons of dreams of 2007 Runescape's return, once you realize that you're pulling one of the dirtiest tricks of all time, once you realize how selfish and ignorant you're being, maybe then, just then, would your average of 75,000 (NOT EVEN ALL PAYING) players skyrocket to a six-figure sum. The worst part, you're lying to all of these innocent players and they don't know the half of it.

Will we get to keep our items and stats and bring them to old RuneScape?

If not, please make this an option so we don't have to play 2007 as noobs!!
