Runescape was most active in early 2007 which is why that particular build is coming back. Ironically wiping your backups is the stupidest reason I've ever heard. I wish he would be straight up like the lead designer for WoW and be like: "Yeah, this is the year that made us the most money so we figured a cash grab was in order. It's a win win for our company regardless if it flops."
yay we get to have round balls/stubs for hands again, I'm sure most of the ge era players will get annoyed of the 2007 rs and lose it

Simply amazing! lets get these 750k votes! im a very old veteran of this game and i had recenelty quit because all the bs jagex has been updating, all the micropayments and bs simple ways to get exp, i hate free exp, ruined the game, and one day i thought, i wonder how rs is doing and i seen this update!@ this blown my mind, doesnt supprise me because Jagex is really hurting right now
I do want to make a few points however and this is strictly business. All the years I played Runescape it cost 5$ a month. I took time out to play WoW at 15$ a month because it was and is twice the game Runescape is. That being said, if you charge anything more than 10$ a month, then I'd rather go and play WoW again for that price. Better graphics and interface etc. But for 5-10$ a month I'd play Runescape, even if I have to forfit my 120/138+ to play it.
Also, this may be controversial but DO NOT add in the grand exchange. It is cool, and works amazing however it has its negatives. How many of you remember W2 Fally garden with free trade and pre GE? That was where you went to sell and buy. That let merchants make money without trust trades.
