2007 is a good base,
For those who prefer a later version, 2008-2012, keep in mind that they will still be adding content updates in the form of poll's based on player feedback, with enough votes.

Mod MMG- "These servers will receive continuous maintenance, modern anti-bot technology if necessary and - crucially - regular members' polls to determine which updates you want to see prioritised. "

Even withought the maximin # of votes they will still be adding content updates based on feedback, just withought the modern anti-bot tech, and less frequent polls. I wouldnt take the voting standards too literally, it is clear they need the money with well over half of the 'latest news' being related to sof, sgs, bank boosters, and premier club membership bs.

You can see i had need more then 4 years to reach each skill on this level. But to start as a lv. 3 player is for me not so annoying how this eoc boring fight system and all this laggs and bugs from last 2 years.
So much people dislike eoc and all more new items and updates since 2007, so vote now yes for 2007 rs. :)

Though l have a feeling that this probably won't get enough votes to become f2p, I do find joy in which the fact that Jagex is bringing this back. I grew up playing runescape 2007 and it would be great to replay this again. By the way, I am a f2p.

I say us members who love eoc and dont want this to happen should be able to vote NO!
What no one understands is this is going to effect us more then your actually think it is. People have been ranting to make a 2007 server, well i say those who DONT want it to take place should be able to say so! Just so jagex can REALLY see who cares, and whats best for our overall game!

I would love to go back pre EoC but to go back to 2007 as a lvl 3 again and lose 6 years of my hard work... I'm not sure I want to do that. I worked hard for my quest cape and have no interest in getting all my stats up again from scratch. Having to pay even a dime more is not something that I will do... period!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the game back then and would love to have it be the way it was. Unfortunately, it will never be the same as the community is no longer friendly. We all used to talk openly and encourage each other whilst playing. If someone leveled, we would all congratulate them. Now, it's rare when anyone says congrats to other players. Hardly anyone talks anymore. I can't see how by creating a 2007 version of the game, that we would get that aspect back again.

Again, if there was a way to allow us to play a version of the game prior to EoC it would be awesome! I just don't want to pay more, nor do I want to start over again from scratch. Perhaps there is a way to allow members to play the 2007 version and keep our accounts the way they are now. That would be prime!
