I don't want to pay for the EOC servers; i only want to play pre-eoc servers, kick me off EOC servers and only let me play Pre-eoc servers; charge me for only Pre-eoc servers, not both. I dont even like 2013 runescape ~sorry.

So instead of paying attention to the mass amounts of feedback, suggestions, and tweaks given by players to improve your game... you're just going to listen to the people that have whined/begged since 2007 for 2007 servers, use the whining to generate mass membership for the voting (I mean let's face it, there's no way in hell you're going to get the large amount of players back who quit out of disgust back by improving your game), then possibly actually come through with it... and then you might actually provide that with some content and a team?


How the hell does this fit the "We cram SoF and Solomon down your throats because WE HAVE TO!"?


Oh, I get it. The very first update that the 2007 servers will receive will be Solomon and SoF, thus allowing you to cram them down the throats of people there too.


And all this time, you're still just going to keep moving your real game further away from what players actually want it to be, ignore your forums as always, and keep cramming SoF, Solomon, and <insert inevitable third money-grabber here> down throats for the main game.


Ya know, if I thought Jagex was doing this because they actually listen to players and are trying to do what's right, this would be awesome.

Unfortunately, all I see it yet another money-grab scheme with no integrity or "soul" to it.

So.. pretty much exactly the same as the Wilderness/free-trade thing, except even worse.



So I wonder how many people will be buying membership on several dummy accounts to fix the votes.




All of this said, I'm totally fine with the servers being made and everything. I just hope no one is stupid enough to think Jagex is doing this "for the players". General Sith, the 377th.

YOU FREAKING LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not so sure I agree it should be members only to vote as there are many who are abstaining from the game's membership through it's current state however: I'd love to see this changed to how the polls looked back in 2007! A members vote and a free vote results?

Also, IF possible, would it not be more secure to use a pre-order for the first month (or more)? I'd put a down payment (not sure how much it'd be in pounds) for the first 3 months anyway and it'd also ensure the free vote means something.
Obviously they could pull out but, come on, why'd they even bother? :P

It is a good idea and I do like it. However, what many people do not realize is that they only want 'Oldschool RuneScape' because of how great the community was, and the feelings of discovery when doing something for the first time. Those types of things cannot just be restored.

As you can tell by the sheer number of replies to this thread this is going to be a massive hit! I'm so glad that you at Jagex have finally decided to listen to what people want. It took a mate 30 minutes of persuasion just for me to believe this is happening! 2007/2008 Server would be fantastic, will keep all those old school pkers happy and also those who like godwars, daggonaths ect. I started playing RuneScape in 2004 and i'm not going to lie ever since me and many other quit when you took away pking, this is by far the best idea you've had. I know there will be 100000's coming off the many private servers and also many many old school members returning, me included. If this goes ahead I will happy be making a payment each month!

So in my opinion this is what killed off runescape, so please please avoid doing these if possible!
- The Grand Exchange
- Please don't have any bountys or anything like that, we like the wildy the way it was!
- If we are to start from scratch again, personally I would like to see at least x2 exp if possible (I spent over 5 years griding to get my levels I wouldn't like to have to repeat that!
- So silly trading limits or anything like that!

This is going to be quite possibly one of the best business ventures you at Jagex have done since the invention of runescape itself! And I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say can't wait for this!
Your only going to have 1 shot at making this work Jagex so do it right! Listen to what the majority customers are wanting (We know you can't please everyone!)

Even though it's a members-only poll, I'm glad. Hopefully it reaches level 4, so then it would be free to everyone, and there would be less hatred towards Jagex...
