I'm happy you are making this effort to bring 2007 server back! However ...
Following explanation makes no sense to me:
'' This will be a members-only vote. While all types of players have invested time in the game, it is our members that ultimately fund the initiatives and therefore get to set the priorities. Your support allows us to continue to evolve this amazing game that we all care deeply about. Making the vote members-only has the benefit of ensuring the votes cannot be rigged, and is a reliable, secure way to calibrate interest from dedicated players. ''
I want to discuss 2 things here:
1. So old players who aren't member anymore wouldn't be dedicated?
Without the huge support of older players who aren't a member anymore today, this vote would never have existed.
All my Runescape-friends have quitted due to EoC, including myself. We still keep in touch through Skype, ***, Teamspeak, ...
Saying we wouldn't be dedicated to the game is untrue. If the old combat system was still there, we would all still be playing.
2. Letting members-only vote is not correct.
Everyone has waited so hard for this but with the actual voting system the chances on the best server we could get, decrease enormously.
THE MAJORITY OF PLAYERS WHO WANT THIS OLD SERVER BACK, DON'T PLAY RUNESCAPE ANYMORE.
The only chance for all older players to vote, is by buying membership.
That's right, WE HAVE TO PAY TO VOTE? Didn't people show enough dedication during the 2006 - 2012 period? I'm sure the dropping numbers of people playing Runesape are clear enough.
The voting system is totally unfair to me. Rather bring another voting system:
Let all the accounts who were made before 2013 vote, that sounds a lot more fair. Why would people who don't like the actual game pay for the membership of it?
I'm really happy with this post, although the voting system is not justified.
