You guys are just going to lose money by constructing the vote the way you did.

It is a silly but crucial mistake you made , if you did it on purpose then it is even more stupid.

I really think there alot of old school players who have retired from the game for like a million reasons, who won't come back because the game is totaly not the same anymore. It is a natural evolution ofcourse of any mmorpg, wow has the same issues (i know i belonged to both communities for a substantial time).

The idea of the old school server is brilliant because it serves both the goals of the company which is making revenue and hitting profit targets and serves the community because you make a big whish come true for alot of players.

What bugs me is that you think the major revenue from this would come from players paying an additional 5 dollar for this service. It is why you guys made the voting borders the way they are. You know you it won't/can't reach 500.000, yet you want to give the community the illusion they had a choice for an free option of this server. All this is done to raise the expectance and satisfaction of the community. (ofcourse you want the 5 dollar for the revenue).

But you are so wrong in this respect , hardly anybody from the old school community that is currently a member will pay 5 dollar to play old school runescape. The real potential being the retired vets who could have returned will be lost completly. There are many thousands of old school retired players who gladly play 2007 runescape but not eoc because it is not the same game anymore for them. If these people could play 2007 again they would be willing to pay a normal membership fee for that but not the additional fee of 5 dollar. All these new normal membership fees will be lost revenue for you guys jagex.

These people can't vote so it will never reach 500.000. Jagex loses and the community loses , it is really very sad.

Major tip , fix it while you still can and fire the guy who made the vote!

I am very disappointed on the decision taken by Jagex of only allowing members to vote, 2 million people visited the vote page(mostly F2P) I am a veteran RuneScape player and I have bough at least a total of 4 years of membership, I think Im talking in name of al F2P veterans that where once members when I say you guys should open a few F2P servers on 2007scape, or atleast let F2P vote, so they can give their support and get atleast the 1 month trial so we wouldn't miss the great experience of 2007 servers coming back. I am very heartbroken for the fact I can't afford any membership at the moment and I am going to miss this very exciting experience after lots of years of membership and gameplay, I ask you Mods to please consider my post. And for those veteran players who feel the same way like me, feel free to reply your opinion on my comment.

The best of the hopes for this new server.

@ whiclassic, it's not just for adding a number to a screen, it will help to show the support for the 2007 server, and it pays for the first month on the 2007 server. So basically it's a pre-paid method for the 2007 server. I did say it's a choice what players decide to do.

Also, not everyone who plays RuneScape is a kid, there are a lot of adult players. So the "Not everyone can convince their daddies to waste £5 on a number." was not needed lol.

@ Zarburam, you're not voting for EOC, you're voting for the 2007 server, not matter what your opinion of the current game is. It will actually cost money to set up/maintain and run these servers, and as whiclassic said, some countries are in a recession period. If Jagex can't get the support needed for no additional costs, 500k votes, then as a business they can't offer it for no additional costs. Therefore it is the community's decision to make their choice. Support was shown by many ex players, and a lot claimed they would pay for this service, yet now they are not :| .

I voted 'yes', I support both EOC and 2007 server :) . What will your choice be ?

I'm siting in Political Behavior class, the teacher is boring me, so I get on the web. I went to flickr, my school's on-line newspaper, youtube, facebook, imgur, and the last bookmark covered in dust at the end of the toolbar: Runescape. I haven't been here in such a long time, long enough that I honesty can't remember how long (months? years? [EDIT: 220 days]). And what do I see? Holy ****! Holy ******* ****... Old School 2007 Runescape? Am I dreaming?! I mean it's just an absolute shock. This is something we've wanted for over half a decade. I started playing back in '05 when I was in the 7th grade; I'm a junior in college now and I still dream of those days long ago when I first started playing! Freaking beautiful dreams. This really is a dream come true, Jagex. All the bs yall've pulled over the years is innumerably made up for with this. I pulled out my debit card in class and paid $8 just to vote YES. Is it fate that I just randomly happened to click on this webpage during this 3-week long poll? **** yes. There was a sort of 'calling' for me to come home... and I'm home for good now.

Thank you, Jagex :)
