I think Jagex made a huge mistake by setting such ridiculous "expectations". When the time comes and the poll is closed and we haven't reached the 250,000 mark, more harm will be done than good. The game will lose even more players out of disappointment and frustration. Why bother opening the servers at all if they're going to cost $15.00 in addition to the current membership? That is not what the community wants.

I have to ask, why has it taken so long for you to realize that a lot of people wanted this? I have to agree with KingPlover, the expectations are rather high and if we do not meet them within the given time we have to pay $15 more? That will turn out to be a bad decision, you're almost taunting those who have wanted this for so long and will have just got it, but will need to pay a lot more for it.
I certainly will play it, but sadly most of my friends who also wanted this years ago will probably not. Its sad really, but this is the start of something good Jagex. Don't let the community down with this.

My prime of Runescape was exactly 2007. In 2007 for me, the game was the most enjoyable. There was a true economy which abstained the Grand Exchange and caused the skill of merching and haggling to be a part of the game. There was a much greater sense of community in those days of Runescape.

I do not remember being asked, as a subscribed member, if i wanted improved graphics.
I was not asked if I wanted a Grand Exchange.
And I never signed up for Evolution of Combat, which completely changed the structure of the game. I am not saying the EOC is bad, but I am saying that it could have been part of the approaching "Runescape 3," rather than transforming Runescape 2 into something I no longer have the desire to pay for.

That being said, if you're debating on casting your vote, please think about all of the players that enjoyed Runescape as it sat in 2007 as much as you enjoy the current state of the game. You have the power, and the utmost ease, to pass the vote and give back the gameplay that myself and hundreds of thousands of others loved and had taken from us.

Thank you for reading this, now for the love of the DDS spec, please cast your vote :)
