=====AN APPEAL TO THOSE WHO WOULD ABSTAIN TO VOTE=====
First off, on behalf of all the retired vets, all the voters, and everyone who wants the days of Tutorial Island back, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the people have
flamed, complained, and attacked you for your enjoyment of the current game. I can say I have never once flamed someone for their viewpoint on the progression of this game, but I feel the need to apologize for those that do, because they
represent the minority and should not influence your decision on whether or not you vote. Now, to business.

You *now that voting doesn't affect the main game in any way, you know that Jagex will only receive more revenue for future updates to the main game if 2007 RuneScape is a success, so if you abstain from voting, PLEASE READ.

Some people say that the 2007 RuneScapers have been constantly flaming, and that this is reason enough to not give them what they want. Let me boil this down into two possiblities:
1: It's the vocal minority that does this, and you're punishing the silent majority (retired/no-memb/can't post in 2007 forums) for the actions of the loudmouthing few.
2: Affordable 2007 servers would get trolls off of the 2013 servers, would help increase Jagex's revenue, and help out some retired veterans by allowing them some nostalgia without breaking their checking accounts. It's win-win!

-VOTING HAS ADVANTAGES FOR 2013 SERVERS!-
1: If the 2007 RuneScape servers are a success, Jagex's revenue will increase, and the excess that isn't put towards sustaining the 2007 servers (which won't cost much) will be put towards updates for the main game.
2: While old players try out the old game, they might want to try out the main game as well. This could attract more customers and players for the main game of RuneScape.

We could use all the support we could get, so if you haven't voted already, at least consider it, or consider why you aren't voting. If you're happy with your reason, that is enough. Thank you. :)

Am I the only one who is confused at why Jagex is trying to charge $20+ for a game that used to cost $5? I know they are thirsty for money and are desperate to make any cash from the post EoC update, but in 2007 the game cost $5-$6 to play and be a member NOT *20. The fact they think we will get 750,000 votes when I know for a fact not that many people play and/or will renew there membership to vote is not possible. What I'm not understanding is why they don't make an option for you to just be a member for the 2007 server instead of having to pay for both and waste an extra $15. If the game is gonna be like it was in 2007, make the cost the same as well because even if the servers are up, not many people will play because of the outrageous price and if you did make it a separate payment, you as a company would make WAY more money then you would with your current idea of having us pay for both servers.

I am really old player. I enjoyed playing in 2006-2010. And I am ready to return from retirement to the runescape once again, if my username ''Sonicherois'' WILL Work there.

I thought great then looked at the poll only option is yes. what about finding out if people are willing to pay or not an additional membership fee?

I wouldn't mind going back to old school runescape, however am busy so my runescape time is getting limited, so wouldn't want to pay extra.

there was no way of indicating that to jagex on the poll.

Iza Kat, only people willing to pay will have to pay. Those who don't want to play it won't pay a thing.

Situation as it currently stands is that there will be a $15 monthly cost.. unless enough people vote yes to bring the cost down.

Those who aren't voting will be the cause if the cost remains where it is currently at.

edit typo and to add:

If the vote total reaches 250k, the cost would be $5 per month.. reaching 500k there would be no additional cost (to the current memberhip price)... so the total vote, when it's over.. will determine monthly cost..

On a side note.. they said the first month would be free to anyone voting.

I will be quite impressed if this hits 250k+ votes. I would absolutely love to be able to play the EoC and the 2007 version of RuneScape. I miss those days, and the game is vastly different now that it would feel like a different game almost entirely.

I just don't know why people have to turn this into a battle. Nobody can say which version of RuneScape is better. It is purely opinion based, and everyone likes different things. If you like old RS, cool. If you like new RS, cool. If you like both, cool. What does it matter? There is no better or worse game by fact.

In all honesty, there is no reason not to vote for the old RS. Even if you don't plan on playing it, it would help out your friends or just the players in the community that you play with. The main game won't be hurt by this update at all. If anything, the 2007 servers will help Jagex due to the increased revenue.

For the people who don't think RuneScape has enough members to hit the benchmark votes, you're most likely wrong. I'm not saying you are 100% wrong, but I'm pretty positive there are enough members. Jagex has said themselves *hat 750k would be a stretch for the community, so the chances are that there isn't 750k members. They are probably saying that a lot of people would need to resubscribe to show their support in order to hit 750k. If the vote hits over 250k, then I would say there is at least 500k members. 250k would be 50% of the members. A lot of people refuse to vote for whatever reason, a lot of people simply don't care enough to bother to vote, and a lot of people don't even know what is going on.

For those of you who want the old servers back, including me, it is our job to persuade those who refuse to vote, make those that don't care actually care, spread awareness, and let those who are no longer members know about the vote. If you wish, they can resubscribe to vote. I know we can hit 250k, but we have to go hard for it. Let's do it.
