This was an earlier post of mine to show why people like myself are skeptical of this situation. I would just like to see Jagex set a goal and stick with it instead of jumping back and forth and splitting the focus.

In every type of organization, when a large change in the day to day operations occurs there are always three groups of people. The first group, is a large group made up of people who support the change and are willing to go ahead with it. The second group, also large, is made up of those who are unsure about the change but go along with it anyways. The third group, which is somewhat smaller than the other two, is resistant to change and will refuse to go along with the decisions made by management.

Successful companies have found that the only way to move forward is not to try and appease everyone, because that is illogical. Instead they take feedback and try to get people on board and those that refuse are removed from the organization.

The same exact thing happened when EoC was released. The difference is that you, Jagex, are trying to appeal to everyone when it is just not a viable solution. If you continue on this path and split this game you will only hurt your player base by dividing it even more. Not everyone can get the game they want exactly and no matter what decision you make there will be people who hate you for it.

I do not really support one version of the game over the other, but I think the idea of making basically an entirely separate game will hurt all parties involved. Please make a decision on the direction you would like to go and stick with it.

The concept I mentioned above was from a Harvard Business Case Study on a Dutch petrochemical company that made a transition into life sciences btw for anyone who was wondering where this came from.

Foraiel there is no need for a "no" vote.

Jagex wanted to identify how many people had an interest in playing '07. It isn't a situation where any amount of "no" votes would change them bringing it back. They've clearly stated that it will have ZERO impact on your RS3 game.

The bottom line is.. they have more than 50K votes right now.. which means more than 50K players for RS2 (the '07 version).

Nobody is forced to play it. It will cost RS3 players absolutely nothing and could make jagex millions in membership fees.

How can a gaming company making money from membership fees for people who want to play one of their games.. be wrong?

That's what you want to vote "no" on.

Too many peeps are afraid when they bring this back that this new RS3 will die. It might. But if it does, it's because the players don't like it and want something different.

___

I would rather not. Considering all the people posting things they think will happen that were stated to even be false in the original post, and saying that they do not wish it to happen for that reason alone, it is HIGHLY likely that those people would vote no on false pretences.

just like classic it would be fun to check out runescape the way it was when i was jus starting out. the way players back then were checkin out classic once in a while.

but theres some problems. its a great idea but the timing is wrong.

current runescape is solid. old runescape was broken.
current community is rancid. old community deserved respect.

poll will be as meaningless as free trade vote. goldfarmers see dollar signs. 2007 pvp = pure range... i seem to remember range being heavily botted for the purpose of making accounts to sell.

2007 rs would be nice to check out. but at this time, with current community, it's a total waste of time an rescources. it will be abused far more than respected.
Please take a few moments to observe the reality around you.

I am more interested to see the amount of the community that is against this. I am aware the 50k goal has been reached and I think it is great that many of you seem very pleased with getting a part of the game you clearly want back.

My concerns lie more in what the long term effects of this will be on the organization(Jagex). If you all get the yes votes to hit the higher tiered goals and a staff is hired to support the servers and it turns out the popularity dies after a few months then what happens to that staff? Do you fire all these people who were just hired? Do you absorb them into your existing staff? Could over staffing be a problem if it fails? Could under staffing be a problem if the demand is much huger than the voting suggests?

A lot of questions are still around that need to be determined before we rush into a major decision.

EXACTLY. ^

Jagex, you see there are already 50k votes. You better already be working on getting everything together, I'd like to see it launch the day the voting ends, March 1st, unlike your pathetic delay on the vote for free trade and the wild where it took you an extra weekend just to launch the update. Get to work.
