No offense, but this is the worst idea idea the history of bad ideas. Jagex has had trouble dealing with the bot problem in runescape already, and it's really out of control. This is not the time to even be considering dividing their team into two separate entities. Also, dividing their team will no doubt cause content to be added to the main game less frequently, or with more errors if they rush the remaining team members to keep the same pace.

Also, even if Jagex hires a separate team to run the 07 game, they are still going to want to consult the veterans, meaning that Jagex would still have to send some of the runescape team over to the 07 team for the foreseeable future.

To me, this is irresponsible. While there is still such a astronomically huge bot problem, there should be no talk of dividing their very limited manpower.

How it really is:

1. Who cares RS2007 will take over anyways.
2. The server is from August 2007 obviously that is not part of the game then.
3. G.E. Ruined the game in the long run.
4. Graphics are still really bad the game in comparison to any other game, I don't see how this is a factor, currently it is just polished and shiny and still bad.

And you're charging an ADDITIONAL membership fee? Why can't I pay solely for the 2007 version of the game? I don't want anything to do with the current crap that is released. *22.95 a month is more than World of Warcraft or ANY MMO I've ever heard of.

Just make a flat membership rate for only the 2007 version of the game and everything would be so much better.

Maybe by giving the money that's paid for the 2007 version of the game go towards the 2007 game's upkeep? I'm sure with how much more advanced the team is now, $8 a month can go a long way, especially when they don't need to do any more content upgrades.
