Unids are unidentified herbs. Before the Herblore update in October 2007, players had to ID herbs, not clean them. So players bought stacks of unidentified herbs for like 1-2k each, hoping to get good ones.

Wise players bought them in complete sets, not just single or a few kinds of herbs, because players would ID one herb, know it was low level and want to sell the rest for more than they were worth.
