Sadly, as I considered arming a few of my alts with a 1 month membership in order to vote, I realized the goldfarmers were very likely thinking the same thing...
...only they have tens of thousands of alts.

I truly find it unlikely that the highest tier won't be reached, actually. The way they can use credit cards to achieve membership until they've been detected as a bot, then report said card as stolen to receive a chargeback is diabolical, and sadly will be the ultimate factor in the so called 'vote'...
...if they really wanted a vote that mattered, one that was *honest*, they'd restrict it to accounts that had a minimum (6 months, a year, w/e) playing time / skill level, and they'd include f2p in that population, and drop the tier requirements significantly, since they already have the code in place, and the servers (look how many they currently use that are at half capacity or less daily) making the cost negligible for the return on investment.
Seems to be a money grab, but with the chargebacks, one that will backfire.
