I would like to see rare/disc. items be re-implementing through nothing that has to do with irl status at all. Dropping them on holidays would just ruin the value, and I cannot see a good way of re-implementing.
EVERYONE should vote. Whether you support it or not, an old school server will bring back A LOT of players = more money for Jagex = more development for current Runescape.
Wow, that was a very good read. That showed to me that Jagex cares about it's loyal, veteran members.
With that being said, 2013 Runescape is good overall. The EOC was, in my opinion the step in the right direction (Ideally we one day can play this game on, say, something a little more than Java).
What made 2007 Runescape (and before that) so good was the LACK OF Grand Exchange. It built a better sense of community. Yes, the grand exchange is convenient; but just look at how easy it became to make gold. Buy low, and sell high, INSTANTLY. We had a... more complex buying and selling process via the forums and world 2 sales. Maybe it was a pain to do, maybe it wasn't, but it sure did feel a lot more satisfying to make a connection and actually trade than it does to just use the Grand Exchange.
Jagex, I think if you want to delve further into this idea, you should consider a Runescape with and without a Grand Exchange (possibly a different dimension of ***linor in which everything still exists BUT the grand exchange in Varrock; some type of time shift. You can involve the gypsy from Recipe for Disaster
).
Those are my thoughts.
P.S. consider a Runescape without the Squeal of Fortune that to me offends the very integrity of the game.
