Probably late to the party because all JMods have already abandoned this thread, but I just have to say it:

You know what's the SADDEST thing about this thread? On almost every freaking page there's someone complaining about the gambling epidemic... and the only response we are getting from Jagex is that Og is chomping at the bit to release some kind of "official" gambling system to enable the suckers' addiction.

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

I've said this like a thousand times, and I will say it again: Make gambling a reportable and bannable offence and get rid of the hosting scum. Warn the suckers who trust trade with them that they are breaking the rules. Don't ban those (they are the victims after all) but give them a slap on the wrist. Changing game mechanics WILL NOT WORK. The gambling scum will always find something to work as a random generator. The only way to combat this plague is to make gambling reportable and bannable, then permaban every godsdamned player whose chat log proves that he offered his "hosting" services.

Again: By putting so-called "safe alternatives" into the game you're just enabling the gambling addicts.

There may be people who enjoy gambling, even knowing they lose money. But do you really believe that's the majority of victims? I believe most of them are dupes who are hoping for the big win and do not fully realize the risks, and they certainly don't enjoy losing. Why do they continue to gamble then? It's the standard pattern of throwing good money after bad; they are desperate and hoping to make up for their previous losses.

And instead of telling people that this is ********, you are going to tell them that it's okay. Think about that. Once you go NXT, you never go back.

Paragraph 2. look at all the minigames etc. duel arena? i go on a duel arena world and see 5 people there? there's about 80 people in the wilderness area when there used to be 500+ at least easily just on f2p... the EoC is so biased, to be able to pk you have to be a full on geek to be good, i preferred the simplicity of specs, they were so good and made most of the good weapons, Fix up or i'm gone, it's like you want runescape to die out, ******* me off.....

Deacon blues you don't know what you're on about, hosting accounts for 20% of the rs population, nearly all of those will quit if you remove it, remember when dicing was removed? yeah a lot of players will go. Also there are many legit dicing clans such as legit one. who pay off over 5b+ , if you trade a scammer, that's your problem for taking the risk, so stop trying to remove the best aspect of runescape and help remove EoC to get those 500k+ players back.

This was a great game when I started playing in early 2009. The new improvements have twisted and ruined the game constistantly after your assumption of leadership. You have killed any sense of community, loyalty, ethical behavior (Jagex RTW when they claim that it is against the rules of the game) and have made reckless changes to the game without regard to the lore or ensuring the changes do not disrupt the bbalance of the game system.
EOC is too much of a change. It was not needed, will not invigorate the game, and it alienates a sizable portion of your "former" customer base.
On bots, I find it hard to take your claim seriously. 1000's of bots daily! While I have played very little since the EOC game replaced RS2, I still saw plenty of bots.
I will keep on logging in every other week or so in futile hope that the pleasurable,fun and entertaining RS2 game will return. I will never be member again as long as EOC is the game offered.

Yeah, because 20% of players are "hosting" scum.
So what colour is the sky on the planet you live on?

Who ever is complaining about the whole gambling thing, get over it. Jagex is obviously trying to find that middle ground where they can seem to not like the gamblers, while profiting off of them. They need a paycheck too. Now, what doesn't make sense to me is why they keep this Eoc crap, I can't think of any way it's helping them make more money than with the old rs.
