What if a rank in a friends chat pretending to be a trusted guy which I think he/she is, What if that person dont sell the gp that they earn? Will they still get the ban or what?
Thank you Jagex. However, damage has already been done.
Anyone who has a party hat nowadays which cost billions is considered a bot farmer. It is currently impossible to get that much money without farming multiple bots or abusing a glitch (like the ring of wealth glitch back then..).
These players will stay rich thanks to their abusive use of bot programs and macros and will still be happy with their party hats and so on.
As an old school player, I find this tragic. We could use some more pvm legit ways of making money, one that can not be botted over.
Still, good job in fighting against future bot abusers out there...
I have a question, though maybe it's a dumb one. I was thinking the other day about how you're able to give stats about who is using what browser to play, so you're clearly aware of how people are accessing your game. Is there no way simply to allow only certain applications with "verified signatures" or something like that to be able to play? This way you can add exceptions to common browsers and popular 3rd party clients, and stop those which allow botting.
I suspect you must have thought of something like this before, but sitting here now, I can't immediately see the problem - enlighten me?
