Those are optional means for meta-gamers though. It's content but it's not directly affecting your game unless you actively seek it out. So what if someone buys XX amount of coins or spins? It doesn't pertain to you unless you allow it to.

I think it's just a case of people just griping because of a system they don't agree on exists. It's ludicrous to think that the Squeal or the Store do anything to a players personal experience in a negative fashion.

How does someone elses accomplishments reflect negatively on your play experience? That's what I'm not understanding. How does your playing experience get hampered by someone else hitting 99 in a skill? When did it become detrimental to have someone better at a skill than you?

That's not the game falling into a dark abyss, that's childish envy and the devolution of a community and THAT leads to driving people off and killing a game.

Someone gave you a polite answer and you started looking for ways to argue with them and tell them that their attitude is killing the game.

People don't like SGS, people don't like SOF, but i don't understand why you make yourself write a essay about how other people feel about them.

My questions are valid though. Argumentative, yes. But I'm honestly confused on how someone can even tell if a person leveled up the "normal" way or not. There's no distinction. There is a severe lack of clarity on the dislike.

"I don't like X because of Y" doesn't work here because * is entirely subjective to a factor you can or cannot prove.

How it leads to the death of a game is beyond my understanding. How someone maxing a certain skill affects the well being of a game is also beyond me because they either had the means to obtain the items to master the skill or they went out and did it all by hand and in the process used the market and thus stimulated the in game economy.

"Those who dislike EoC [with a few exceptions ofcourse] cannot give a reason why they dislike it"

Hm let's see...when you use a multi target ability in a single combat area you will attack multiple targets and all those targets attack you. Think that's not a problem? Try being attacked by two or three mithril dragons at once then tell me it's not a problem.

Let's see what else...oh guess what? All magic staffs are 2 handed. You can't wield a polypore staff/sol with a magic book/zammy book anymore. Kinda funny how mage is getting a whole bunch of books and shields when all the attack weapons are 2 handed.

99 constitution no longer means anything with armor raising our hitpoints. And there
are only 3 abilities for constitution with only one that is designed to be used in combat? Really?

This is ********. Thanks to the update, combat training weapons such as the Saradomin Sword is gonna hit rock-bottom prices, it is now only 2.8 mil, and i bought mine for 6 mil just 5 months ago. It took me weeks of doing repetitive tasks just so i could be able to afford it. Runescape, thank you so much for ruining the game for me :@

"There are so many lies that the anti-EoC players are willing to believe.
For example:
- The poll was rigged"

Yeah, it was rigged. It was rigged to where if anyone didn't answer "I don't 'like it" Failgex would view the response as positive. We were given multiple choices on the question do you like the end of combat when it should have been a yes or no.

Also, the poll was quite buggy as was the tutorial. Now I've experienced bugs in game and I can understand an honest mistake or some oversight. However multiple bugs in the tutorial as well as a bug in the survey is suspicious. Also failgex never advertised the poll in game like they do for the squeel of misfortune and solomon's death store. It seems like Failgex just wanted to release the poll to the users who played the end of combat regularly. They put a news feed up but didn't make it a main one so that they can say "nope we told the entire player base about it" when in fact they didn't try very hard to advertise it.

"- The people were payed"

I think some people are saying that as a jest. I certainly don't believe it nor do I care if they were or not.

"A homepage poll is more fair than a poll that requires you to ACTUALLY TRY THE UPDATE"

Yes it is and let me tell you why. A homepage poll is free from bugs. Failgex can make the poll and make it to where you have to be logged in the forums in order to answer it. Failgex can also institute that a minimum of 1 hour needs to be spent in the end of combat before the poll becomes answerable.

Was it fair that a poll was made to bring back free trade/wild when there were players who joined after trade was restricted? They never knew how the old wild was or experienced free trade. So would it have been right to exclude them from that poll? No.

Even with the minimum of 1 hour spent playing the end of combat, I am quite confident that the majority of poll respondents would answer no to liking the end of combat.

Oh my god! Jagex really chose THIS video for melee? I cannot even pay attention to what he is saying half the time because I am too busy laughing! IceGiant99 there keeps saying melee as "mee-lee." It is pronounced "may-lay," or more correctly "mey-ley." May, as in "month of May" and "lay" which we all know. Heh. Lay. Anyhoo, skip ahead to two minutes and he even says "adrellin" not adrenaline! HA!!! Who is he a-drillin' tonight?! Probably his own mom. So these are the so-called "high quality" player made tutorial videos for the EOC Jagex has been giving us seemingly constant news updates about? If that is the best we can expect, then I wasted 7 minutes of my life and I want them back. Try a little harder in life IceGiant99, the bots in Runescape need a punching bag to try out the new combat. :| Even the smallest person can change the course of the world. Problem is that I am too short to reach the steering wheel. ^_^
