I only just discovered, through practical application, that protection prayers now cover 50% of the damage dealt.
I think that to a large degree, most players did not participate in the EoC Beta for any significant amount of time, nor did said players offer feedback with regards to the EoC Beta changes. I certainly fall into this category; I logged into the Beta on specific weekends for the sole purpose of garnering Mad Scientist duds for my character. I paid little attention to how the changes would affect my actual game. On the weekends that I hopped onto the Beta server (after the initial heavy Beta player volume, when multiple Beta servers were in place), the player volume was consistently far smaller than most regular member game servers, so I can confidently state that most players fall into a category similar to mine.
It's only now that rollout has been actuated that many of us are discovering the changes to our preferred videogame. I'm pleased with a number of the updates, but dual-wielded Chaotic rapiers are a poor replacement for fully functional protection prayers.
Additionally, now that I'm maneuvering my character within the scope of the regular game, I find myself recalling why I found the Diablo 2 Assassin character so annoying: too much of my attention is spent staring at countdown timers, and far less of my attention is spent on enjoying the overall game ambience.
Will I continue to pay for a RuneScape subscription? I suppose time will tell. For the immediate future, I'm still on board, but if my enjoyment of RuneScape continues to diminish, there are plenty of other videogames available.
