I'm already paying top price per month because Jagex banned my primary account for mentioning "YouTube" before it wasn't rule-11. So any locked price I had since 2006 was lost when they finally unbanned me in 2009, and during ban it only let me see days remaining on my membership and I tried renewing and it said I couldn't. So that's lost long ago - had to make new accounts to start over and ensure Jagex couldn't false ban me ever again and leave me with nothing but level 1 every stat.

Then I learned I actually enjoy the game way more skilling 1-90 than the slow bs of maxing or 90-99 so that's what I do for fun and enjoyment now.

* Back on subject. So what all do I get other than jacked for wasting way more money on the same items they're selling now for 1/2 the price I paid?

Reminds me of how they got me with this idea of getting a Festive Aura for each of my Refer a Friend accounts. Two weeks later they come out with a better Refer a Friend offer and since I bought my 5 this year too early I got screwed over on that as well. Just like everyone whom bought the "limited time" items of 2011-2012 since Gold Membership came out.

What do they need even more cash for anyway?

MMG said they had to make SoF and Solomon to help fund EoC. Well that is here and they have yet to remove either of those updates from April 2012.

If money is the root of all evil - I know a certain IVP going direct to the underworld when this is all over.

Keeping a good quality game and quality members and 'good face' with the customer base are sometimes better traits than simply shoving more-and-more cash offers down our throat every week.

They're not even hiding it anymore like they used to. They're money-hungry and it shows.

Fros Tee, no one is paying 36 dollars. The bare minimum is 60. And we're trying to have a serious conversation - we may disagree with Jagex's decisions and dislike them, but they are still people making rational decisions from their perspective, they are not stupid or evil or abusive or any of that and accusing them of such just undermines any point you were trying to get across. Healthy, mature dialogue and conversation necessarily avoids ad hominum attacks like those. I don't think that penalising the most loyal subscribers is a good decision, but that's my opinion based on my own bias around such things as preferring to pay less rather than more for something, given that it's the same thing; from their perspective, they are losing potential revenue on me every month I don't pay 7.95, even if I am loyal. Need partner(s) to get 5k DA and Wildy kills for hats.
Need Fist of Guthix and Fight Pits partner(s) for hybrid armour pieces.
Need Fishing Trawler partner(s) for 5 shark teeth.

Either way they've got their money from me already. Rather through 5-a-month memberships, or that same cash on a main raised cost of 5x. It just means I would be stuck on fewer names with slower leveling. Jagex/IVP still get theirs, and I still would be around because I have so many friends earned in the past 10 years right here that I'd hate to start from scratch on a new game.

ftw5, if you watch their livestreams they said SoF and SS are to fund projects - EoC was the first, but there are more coming, and the more money they raise the more they can do. And as for your quotation, not only is it a blatant ad hominum but it's not even quoted accurately. The real saying is: "[The] Love of money is the root of all evil." Health discussion? Listen, I'm paying 5x a much as anybody else on this thread to play and enjoy the game/myself. I have a good time and try not to take anything too serious. That's what work is for.

But you've got to admit. The words "Real-World Trading" and "Jagex" haven't been associated in the same sentence until 2012. All this year that's the only headline news I see every week is yet another SoF and Solomon Store update.

After a while you tend to just give up trying. Now it's just sit back and enjoy everyone whining while Jagex don't even read their own posts or respond to comments. I've seen it the full way regarding that EoC thing, same with April 16th 2012 when SoF became about cash and not about free/fun.

I was banned 3 years for saying I have a YouTube for crying out loud. If I laughed that one off and am grateful to Tehnoobshow for slapping some sense in to Jagex with posting "YouTube RuneScape Gathering" as an event and they didn't ban him for it but rather changed the rules to accommodate - I can laugh anything off.

Anyway thanks to exposing this whole "will lost $5/month membership" theory. I've shared it on my website for review by my fellow clan mates.

Regarding your second post.

This funding is for future SoF/Solomon add-ons? Or remaking more than just the 5 quests we've already completed but have to complete over again to spend even more time toward Quest/Comp cape?

I'm still waiting for real content. Like fixing bugs in the game with "loading 50%" at all lodestones, how Admin in clan is able to overpower Owner for kicks/bans. Or even that Soul Altar which has a portal from Abyss since Zamorak-knows-when. They're planning 2 new skills while they haven't finished with RuneCrafting fully. And I'm not looking forward to more quest re-works, I'm waiting to see the next Elemental Workshop so I can finally one day smith Law Armor set.

As I understand it, the funding is for projects like Runescape 3, HTML5, Runescape on portable devices, those sorts of things, as well as bolstering the resources for things like Elf/Dragonkin/Desert/etc. quest storylines.

Lag is aggravating, certainly, and I too await the Soul Talisman/Altar - many a Blood-crafting trip I eyed it longingly as I passed. (Though Bots, Runespan, and Spell-Cost Reductions all have served to massively devalue runecrafting - I can't find anyone to join me at GoP anymore to get those nice rewards, people just afk Runespan to 99 and then never runecraft again). I do hope they are able to revitalise it, though with today's community being so different from that 10 years ago I don't know how they will. The playerbase today is much younger, less mature, more greedy and entitled, and so all anyone cares about is max GP or XP per hour and all else is ignored, and since Jagex listens to its playerbase (yes, it does) they keep making everything faster and easier to train. In this case, though, Jagex is doing what the majority of players want, so in that sense I can't fault them.

I miss the experience of playing through old quests as a noob, but the Quest reworks bring a little of that back, plus they take almost no time and are for more interesting than hundreds of hours of Castle Wars or Chompy hunting or Livid Farm, so I enjoy the new quests. And I too greatly anticipate the continuation of many storylines, including Elemental Workshop - Soul Armour? Why not :) Need partner(s) to get 5k DA and Wildy kills for hats.

srsly? u just want cash ffs..... i can tell i want it but its ****** expensive and ****, wy u dont give it just normal players and make better christmas event, YOU JUST THINK MONEY!!!

u should make game better to play and better events and that kind **** but u just try make it money source. Think players a sec ***ex, Thx.
