A lot of us don't give two crayfish about the SoF or Solomon's General Store. We don't care about the "masking equipment" stuff. We care about getting access to the content in the game which we have been paying for years at 5 dollars a month. They're now requiring us to pay 24% more a year and on top of that pay it all at once to be eligible to "closed betas" and possibly other content that they have yet to create.
much like other players iv been a member for awhile now and i only pay $5 a month for rs thanks to having a on going runescape membership. By buying this at the end will i have to pay more if so it's just not worth it...
If you buy this will we get the items only offers from buying member ship cards or is this a scam where u get 60% rs to buy 1 yr then have loads of items threw buying 3 month cards so by end we have 2yrs+ of membership lol
So it has finally begun. Jagex is now rewarding advanced content only for higher premiums, or in this case, advanced premiums equaling a full year subscription in advance. It was only a matter of time, before Jagex followed suit with other game companies, that charge for 'extra' content beyond what you already pay (microtransactions was just one step in that path).
Jagex cannot deny that this is what it is, as they state that your 'normal' subscription is suspended while you 'premier' subscription is active. Afterwards, your 'normal' sub will reapply.
How long will it be before Jagex makes the next leap, to actually charging players to unlock quests, skills and content features, beyond their subs? Is our loyalty now completely defined by how much advanced membership we pay upfront? Longevity as a player, and our Genuine loyalty no longer matters. It is all about how much money Jagex can make from us, and our so called 'Loyalty'.
I quit months ago, due to Jagex's monetization of RuneScape, and their change of ethos to the Spirit of the Game. Quality, enjoyment and fair play is no longer in the Spirit of the Game to Jagex. You now have to pay upfront, months in advance to 'enjoy' what Jagex has to offer. If not, you are now a 'non loyal' Member, such as a normal subscription would imply.
I'm currently at a reduced membership rate (£3.10 or £3.20 I think) for loyalty or whatever. If I buy this, then when it runs out will I be paying the same as current "loyalty" price again, or will I be at the full price for new members?
It's quite an important thing to know before I even consider paying up front for a year's worth of membership.
ok this premeir thing is a unfair release for players who pay monthly, i find it stupid to stock up on membership months when u dont know how the game is gonna be in the future.
so far i noticed that 5% of the updates this past year was for high lvl players like myself and the other 95% percecnt is trying to recruit new players that probably wont even play long......
please stop making stupid "buy this card to get membership and items" and start doing more of the loyalty thing....
loyalty points was a good update but it seems that you guys have abandoned the loyal players and started focusing on new players....
use long time playing members are the foundation of this game.... since its been proven that we stuck with the game from thick and thin, bad and good etc
dont u think we should get something as a reward for being members for so many years??
Jagex: Pay us more, upfront, prove your loyalty with your wallet, we shall reward you.
New Player: Oh wow, look at all this cool stuff, here is my $74.95, sign me up!
Jagex: We have new players, paying higher premiums, and a year upfront, look at the money roll in! Forget about those dwindling older players, that feel they are loyal, they don't make us as much money as the new suckers.
Veterans: Wow, dissed again by Jagex, what a way to show loyalty to us proven fans.......(ends subscription)
