I agree with Divine completely. I played 05-08 mainly and my experience with this game went downhill shortly after.. I garuntee if you were to create old RuneScape, as it was with the awful graphics, long hours doing Bank Sales, slow xp rates, and incredibly tedious gameplay, your playerbase would come back. I personally wouldn't care to even have to my stats wiped to replay it.
Vets like us get offended when we busted our asses to train skills and people these days have xp crammed down their throat. You ran the game perfectly back then and you weren't even trying..

It is such a shame that a game that used to be based on dedication and hard work and skill has now lost its way as well as untold players yet still jagex are not seeing the whole picture. Instead of addressing the issues players have with the game that is causing them to give up being members they are simply glossing over the cracks by bringing out updates like this, that i personally find an insult to all players who have worked hard on their accounts only to see new members join and Accelerate on their skills because this game has become easier to play.

Right now there are about 1,758,917 accounts on highscores, but here is the fun part, over 1,012,236 are total level 53 or lower, these acounts all have roughly about 10k to 30k exp. I am not even counting the other hundreds of thousands of accounts that are obviously throw away accounts and you can always find all the friendly bot accounts.

I still cant say exactly what these accounts are for but if I was a betting man they are probably due to the fancy 600 million possible reward from sof, they are making 100's of thousands of free accounts with a free two week trial of members..... This is why the public hates sof, idc at all about solomans as long as it stays cosmetic but you have some serious issues with people abusing your system.

My friends were playing Runescape and have already QUIT. I have no friends left to recommend.

The investors are milking this game for all it is worth. They don't care if all of the people are bots because the more members they show to the bank the more money they can borrow to put into their own pockets by giving raises to their CEO and special people as well as bonuses and payments to "consultants." The "consultants" are another branch of the investor's company. Then, they give dividends to themselves too.

No money is spent to improve the game or fix servers or glitches. They do not care!
When the game crashes and they cannot make payments on the loans that they got from bank Jagex will go into bankruptcy and the investors will have taken millions and millions out of Runescape and put into their own pockets. That is how equity investment companies work.

The loss of so many member players is affecting their image with the bank. If people sign up bots to use, then the bank is happy because it shows new members. It does not matter that they really are not getting money from the increase in membership. It only matters that they show an increase in membership.
