Thanks for responding Mod Mike! Still a couple of things that aren't clear:
Does the bonus stack? If I recruit 20 friends, and all 20 play, and all 20 play near me on the same world, do I get 10% of all their xp?
Do you think this is something botters might try to do?
Do you see how even if I "recruit" my noob account, and get 1 month membership on my main free, even if they never play at the same time, I've still gotten 1 month's membership on 2 accounts for the price of 1 month's membership on one account? Wouldn't this be a clever way to start a noob account, and wouldn't this be 10 times more likely to be done than actually recruiting a new person?
When you say "face the normal consequences" do you mean "continue to go unpunished as far too many botters still do, and gain a nice juicey xp bonus while they do it?"
Can you see how these botters, if they are not caught, would benefit far more than genuine players?
"No. You will only gain XP if the recruited player gains XP and becomes a member!" -
Since if the recruited player gains XP and becomes a member, you will gain xp, couldn't everyone find random f2pers, pay for 1 month of membership for them, get the month of membership back free on their main account, and get all the bonus xp from all the random f2per's they "recruited"? Couldn't they get dozens of people this way? Thousands if they were prepared to pay for this (unfair) advantage? All giving the main account bonus xp? And if so, are you using Jagex Logic and saying "No." when you mean "Yes, it is another way to indirectly buy XP"?
EDIT: P.S. Thank you for finding out that the bonus lasts forever if both accounts remain members. Pending your answer to the question on stacking, it seems that over the coming years, people could potentially be gaining 10% of the xp of hundreds of people they have recruited. Do you think this makes the game fair, someone getting 10% of the xp of hundreds of other players, while other players have to work for their xp?
