"Thanks to player feedback"
(facepalm)
Here's what really happened: People bought spins for the medium lamps to use on runecrafting. Despite all the lies peddled by Jagex, despite Gerhard saying concerns about people buying an advantage were "simply not true" without providing anything to back up his wild claims, we all know that the reason people bought spins was for the lamps.
Runespam comes = it's no longer worth paying real life cash for spins because it's easier to just afk train runecrafting. Sales plummet.
So now the ridiculous claims of Gerhard that SoF bought spins are the most loved update ever fall flat on their face, and this is the latest bribe to try and squeeze more cash out of players, further ruining the core values of the game - there is no effort involved in getting stuff from the wheel, no sense of achievement, it's just pure dumb luck, or brute force irl spending.
Nobody plays runescape because they want to play a game of microtransactions and the ability for other players to buy their way ahead of you. I don't think anyone even plays for the ability to get ahead by sheer dumb luck from free spins.
We play runescape because it's fair, because it's a level playing field, because you get out what you put in - reward for effort. We play it because it's *not* like those other microtransactions games. We don't like those games.
But now IVP and the puppets they run at Jagex are ruining all that for a short term cash grab, and don't care if in the long term there's no reason to go on playing Runescape.
This is your player feedback Jagex. There have been thousands of posts saying the same thing, and there would have been thousands more if you hadn't started censoring all feedback you don't want to hear.
Don't lie and say "Thanks to player feedback" when you're blatantly ignoring our feedback.
Get rid of the wheel, sack your marketing "guru" and go back to what made the game successful in the first place.
