"I have to say that I scan the membership dates under each poster's avatar and the majority of those who are extremely animated against this event, are for the most part the same ones who are adamantly anti-EOC, and interestingly too, this majority also have birthing dates within the last 24 months."
^ That really has nothing to do with anything. I've had more than one account and been a member since 2005, taking breaks here and there. Just because something doesn't apply to or affect you, doesn't mean you can say others' opinions don't make sense or are irrelevant. If you're happy with the game then good for you. ;)
hey lol

The only person or thing that could "cheapen" my achievements is me. I don't care how other people get what they get and have what they have--I concentrate on my accomplishments alone. Comparing them against others is not only pointless, it's silly. They're *my* accomplishments--why should I care about other people's?
You don't like easy xp? Fine, don't use the means to get it. But don't blame other people if that's how they choose to play (I've been playing since 2003 and only have one 99, so it's obviously not my style, but I'm not going to knock others for it).
If people spent more time worrying about themselves and less about others, this world would be a much more pleasant place, I think.
That all being said--sounds like a great month, Jagex. Thanks again for some interesting updates.

50% Bonus experience for only 30 Minutes a Day isn't very useful. It might amount to ~250k more summoning experience in a half an hour everyday of the month for those who stand at the obelisk selling their pouches and unnoting the tertiaries through the store (i.e. trivial). Unless your goal was give us something (however trivial) while not affecting the gameplay of people who end up not getting to take advantage of the experience, You really haven't given us anything worthwhile. Cosmetically perhaps but practically no.
How about an update with some substance? If the aura lasted 2 hours a day, then it would be substantial. I'd imagine you did the math and found that 30 minutes a day would not have a significant effect on the gameplay experience of its players but would make the mass player base, that have not already quit, think they are recieving something non-trivial and made your decision based on those findings; but, that is counter intuitive. If you want to garner our patronage, gimmicks just aren't necessary; however, 'we' do love those gimmicks (especially the fun ones).
I propose a compromise between trivial and non-practical updates(cosmetic gear with no stats, experience boosts that serve to only increase experience gains by 0.01%, etc.. and/or events with said rewards) and substantial, practically useful updates (double experience weekends for instance, awesome new quests with wicked rewards, new bosses with near gear to grind for, etc...). I cannot comment on future updates I know nothing about. As for this event, the compromise would be increasing the experience boost from the aura by 4x or the time it lasts by 4x. The first would not effect the economy of the game as only so much resources can be used in half an hour a day. The second could see some significant price fluctuations on high demand items (like construction/crafting/smithing/etc... materials) but I'm sure it would have more of a positive effect on the general mood of players.

That is, if the duration of the aura were to not run down while logged out, then players in general would have reason to find ways to fill up 2 hours of gameplay everyday (which could force them into the situation where they would learn to like what they are doing).
