Another related fun fact I know, during the majority of WW1, The United States did not view Germany as any more morally unsound than any of the other nations fighting in the war. They actually welcomed a few Germans when they made it to the US after breaking through a British blockade. In unrelated incidents, Germany later ended up blowing up a port that was supplying the allies with arms and munitions, and sank a US cruise ship for entering British waters. But even those incidents are not what got the US involved in WW1. It was discovering a plot that Germany was trying to convince Mexico to ally with them and attack the United States for them. Mexico refused, and the US sent troops to fight against Germany for even trying. Join Lazy Potatoes !
