Fun Fact of the Day

Although oxygen gas is colorless, oxygen in liquid and solid form is a pale blue color.

This is because the low density (low concentration of molecular oxygen) in the gaseous state precludes the collision of electrons with photons, and therefore their excitation and return to ground state that emits color.
