This week sees the release of our biggest and most anticipated update this year: player-owned houses. No longer must RuneScape members wander the world endlessly, never being able to sit down or have a place to call their own...

Note - we were originally going to call this skill "Carpentry", but the range of activities involved in the skill soon got much bigger than that title, so we widened it to "Construction".

The recent release of player-owned housing has caused a very high demand for members worlds, therefore over the last 2 days we have put 11 new worlds online to make sure there is plenty of space.

Grrr....Growl....Woof! The Makeover Mage has been hard at work giving man's best (and sometimes not so best) friend a new look. The Makeover Mage paid a visit to Canifis and gave the werewolves a haircut and pedicure. Then off he/she went to the cold mountain ranges of RuneScape to smarten up the wolves. The Makeover Mage didn't stop there, he/she sent all the dogs of RuneScape to the dog groomer. Keep your eyes peeled for the new look for man's best friend.

Players chopping down trees will also notice the odd nest tumbling down from the branches. These nests appear randomly for woodcutters (in a similar way to gems appearing when you are mining) and may contain useful items, including farming seeds.

Agility has been made more effective for improving running, as it now reduces your recharge time AND increases the distance you can run per run energy point. Agility levels 50-99 in particular have been made more useful, as previously they offered very little extra running advantage.

I've added a whole new skill for you to try in RuneScape! There are various fishing points scattered around the rivers and ocean. Go to the fishing-shop in Port Sarim to get the equipment you need and then try your hand at fishing. There are 10 different fish to catch, and 5 different fishing techniques to try!
