WRT to Christie's reply to me on the page before this - sorry, I forgot to check back until now.
I don't know how official it is, but the first page did say it's a requirement to join that one be active on the forum. By "weekly chores" I mean the types of things other clans often have as requirements - bump the recruitment thread, cap at the citadel, join the outside forum, attend events whether you enjoy them or not. I liked the look of this clan, all but the forum requirement. Is that not really a requirement after all? It seemed like it on the first page: "9. You will visit the forums at least once a week and if possible participate in the discussions. "

First of all, we are a relaxed clan with only one real mandatory: respect for each other, each other's beliefs, gender, culture etc. There is no obligation to participate in gathering, joining our skilling competitions or joining other events.
Second, we have a couple of rules that you should not do, like begging, scamming, cursing or harrassing people. You should also not break Jagex rules. Botting for instance is not allowed, nor is afk-ing for too long a time. Nor is promoting any kind of illegal substance.
Third, coming back to afk-ing for too long a time, this is the entire foundation of being in a clan, to have fun together <- Notice the word "together". We like to communicate with each other. We are a democratic clan where everyone has a voice and a vote. People who withdraw from all communication... well... why do you want to be in a clan then? The forum is how we communicate with people who cannot be online at the same time all the time.
You are asking what the clan can do for you and are not interested in what you can do for the clan. As such you already disqualified yourself, I hope you understand. :)

"You are asking what the clan can do for you and are not interested in what you can do for the clan. As such you already disqualified yourself, I hope you understand."
I'm not asking for a clan to do anything for me. I'm looking for a clan for the social side of things, which is to say, chatting together while we everyone's off doing their own thing in peace. Not a clan that's some kind of virtual job. I'm not here on the forums looking for a tier-whatever clan for free summoning xp but not wanting to bother contributing to upkeep. I came looking for a clan with a mature, friendly chat and no impositions.
Understand, I wasn't applying to this clan; this clan was auditioning for me. That's what the front page of a thread is for and that's why my requests for clarification about the rules were for: I need to know if a clan has what I'm looking for before I even consider joining.
PS: I would have designated the clan as too immature the second I was told about the "no 'cursing'" rule. You may want to include that on the front page and change your thread's title, because it is incorrect. If you subject yourselves and applicants to restrictions on speech because of some rather dim people and their unfathomably irrational objection to certain words, then "mature skilling clan" is one-third misnomer.
