Not only will you sink in 12+ hour days just to try to keep your membership, you will spend money on bonds for upgrades to just feel discouraged because the drop rates are 0.0001% meaning you will have to keep spending money to eventually break even, this is the worst business model in existence especially if you consider how much these people try and gouge us it's disgusting business practice all around and by the way, this game is marketed at KIDS, and then when you complain they will just tell you not to play, that's why the player base has no retention, that's why there's no new players coming in that stick around.

I don't have a problem not playing this game and so does many of the loyal players who kept this game afloat for over a decade, that's why I made the decision to stop spending IRL cash on this game, not because I can't afford it but solely based on the way Jagex treats it's paying customer, we're just walking wallets to them, they don't respect our time, they don't respect the fact that we're literally in a world wide recession, all they care about is profit, you're just a number to them, they'll let the game die and move on to invest in the next game they'll destroy and that folks is why gaming as a whole is dead.

Good riddance Jagex, I'll come back when you've lost so much money you don't have a choice but to cater to the player base instead of your money hungry price gouging investors.

So you missed the PEGI-16 Rating that the game carries then? It's been many years since RS considered itself a kids' game, as shown by some of the content.

Recession or not, they still have to pay their staff. And you are aware that they are a COMPANY, not a charity, right? That they are legally required (e.g. in the US) to act in the best interests of their shareholders?

I laughed here.

First of all, the game's been around for TWENTY YEARS, so they're clearly not in the mood to move on to something else.

Secondly, Jagex's other games have been underwhelming at best, and have a tendency to be abandoned before even being released - despite the company investing large amounts of time and money in them.

Also the fact that you're willing to let go customers who used to put thousands of dollars yearly into this game shows you that this company views it's players as a walking wallet, they don't care about what you have to say unless it presents massive online backlash and what happens a month after that, they always go back to their scummy price gouging ways causing controversy after controversy, Imagine trying to inflate your numbers trying to bring in new people through mobile and even the whole Chinese market they were pandering to said nah this game is trash, every new player who comes into the game plays for a day and decides there are a million other games that while they don't respect their time, are at least actually fun to play, it's pretty sad when Roblox is a more fun experience that Runescape which has been around for 20 years like you say HAHA imagine getting beaten by ROBLOX in terms of player numbers, just one game on Roblox has more players than the entire RS3 & OSRS player base COMBINED HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA man I wet myself

Also for anyone wondering, the reason Jagex said Bonds were introduced in the first place was so that F2P players could access membership through just playing the game in a reasonable amount of time, that is no longer the case and the real reason has been revealed, the introduction of bonds was to make them so expensive that players would see this as an opportunity to spend IRL cash to bypass time requirements aka horrible drop rates for end game items earning the company mass profits in the end, while it may of started as a player initiative it ultimately turned into something else resembling a price gouging tool, it is no longer meant for player to earn free membership.

It is now used to bypass time restraints so long as you're a whale, when people point this out you get Jagex defenders like these people making up the most lame bs excuses as to why it is the way it is and who cares if the time went from a couple days to earn a bond to 2 weeks of 12 hour days of gameplay because you're a brokie, they're openly showing you that you're just a number and a walking wallet to them based off their previous statements compared to their current statements, the hypocrisy is strong in these fools, and like these 386 Billion dollar parent companies/investment groups really need more money right, the reason Jagex sucks now and Runescape isn't fun anymore is solely because of investment groups like this.

They don't care about the longevity of any game, they just care about how much money they can gouge out of you before the product they bought dies and they really don't care if it dies so long as they made a profit, you can see this with any game, Call of Duty, Destiny, Halo, Runescape and the list goes on, every game we loved was destroyed by these investment groups, if anyone ever decides to play a game I'd strongly recommend looking at the investment group behind it before ever spending a penny or a second of your life on that game, we as community need to do better.

ive only ever spent money on membership.

i never see the reason why people pay for games to be easier or to be completed for them. otherwise yes it does become a waste of money and it ruins the fun of the game! then you make silly threads on forums.

but you did make that choice and that choice was solely on you, and now you are angry? why angry at jagex when it was your choice, you were never forced to do it. ive never felt forced into spending money. cause they dont try and force you at all. it was all your choice, like coming into rants and make this thread and commenting on others.


and no this is not a kids game, its pegi 16.
and majority of the people that play it are adults way into their 20s.
its also clear its not for kids due to the content of a lot of lore.


but yes i do agree its a waste of money but thats always my view on mtx, i want to play the game,

Hes right thought, prepare to dump ALL your free time into this game to make ANY progress, prepare to kill thousands of creatures for a slim chance at a drop cause of a bad RNG system, and prepare to be harassed by sweaty gold buyers because you dont have the BIS gear that they have and prepare to watch dozens of bots go by you all day every day.
