Ring of Tree is frequently used to harass players at the GE and other places they gather.
Its not right to put down portables and have noobs become a larger than life Yew tree right on top of the portable.
It becomes harassment, and there is no way to report it unless the noob speaks, and even then what the noob says is not going to look like the harassment it is.
Can we ban them (any and all transmogs that can be used to harass players) from use in the GE, Fort Forinthry and anywhere else people gather to use their resources and find their time wasted because of these childish and selfish players?
Thoughts?
It's not harassment, though.
The concept of portable skilling stations is that you're supposed to be able to, say, set down anywhere you want and do a particular skill, with additional benefit(s) for using the portable (extra gems from a crafter, saving resources using a fletcher, and so on).
I get it, people like to troll online, but you're better off ignoring their behavior and doing your best to work around it.
We pay (by either buying keys or just doing challenges ingame) to use those portables. Especially during DXP, we are looking for efficient use of our time.
Am I allowed a refund with interest like has been suggested for the ring? I really dont mind if you get 'in my face' anywhere else, but I do mind having my money and DXP time wasted.
You can get in people's faces everywhere else.
One funny one I saw was a plant behind a dead tree at the Zamorak Mage. This guy pops up and Im standing there thinking, "where did he come from?" He was skulled and looking to use his transmog to PK runecrafters. At least he was looking for fun, excitement, and possibly profit. He wasnt just there to HARASS other players.

You're "paying" to use a portable that someone else has chosen to set down, in whatever place they chose to do so.
You cannot realistically get upset if someone puts, say, a portable cooker in a spot you dislike.
Like I said before, I get it, people like to be arses, but there's little that can be done about it because it's not against the rules to put a portable skilling station on a given tile....
Someone else playing the game in a way you don't like is "harassment" now...
Wow where has the human race gone?
Honestly if you really want a solution to this, demand Jagex add the Entity Hider functionality from the OSRS Runelite client (and if they won't, demand the ability for players to use third party clients that will). You can hide the transmogs, I can hide all the obnoxious idiots with their drakes clogging every inch of this game. It's a win-win.
I play both versions of the game regularly and it's insane how many QOL features you get in Runelite that would be amazing in RS3:
Loot trackers, Xp charts, in-client xp calculators, tile markers, Item markers, menu-entry editors to change the order of options on right click menus, Clue solvers (way more in depth than Alt1), In-client quest guides, custom notifications for afking/minimized gaming, D&D trackers, aggression zone trackers and timers, entity spawn/despawn timers.
The list goes on. Meanwhile RS3 barely has basic versions of a few of these features and you have to pay money for them.

Eh. I'd not be espousing RuneLite too much around here. It has a....notoriety.

Like I care what some people think. It's an officially Jagex supported client. If they want to complain, they can write a letter to Jagex. Fact of the matter is that the one of the main reasons similar clients aren't allowed for RS3 is because so many of the features they offer are sold to us in the form of RuneMetrics.
The fact that it's been this many years since Jagex suggested the idea of changing the left-click default on items using the action bar, and we still haven't seen it, Meanwhile, It's been a feature on Runelite for years, is just sad. If they don't have the time/manpower to make these features, let the community make them; I know hundreds of players who wish you could make Activate the default option on Enhanced Excalibur.

Please do show me where Jagex has explicitly endorsed RuneLite.
As others more in-the-know than I am have stated, it logs your login info leaving your account(s) to be compromised at any time.
It's literally installed in the Jagex launcher by default...
Direct quote from the Jagex launcher page:
"The Jagex Launcher remembers your accounts, so there's no need to enter your password each time you play. You can add up to 10 different RuneScape or Old School accounts and quickly switch between them. If you're an Old School player, you can also choose to play using the official client or
RuneLite
.
You can take advantage of this game changing feature right now in the latest version of the launcher!"
Direct quote from the OSRS news article outlining Jagex accounts:
"We’re delighted to see that so many of you are using the Jagex Launcher to play Old School RuneScape, whether on the official client or on RuneLite."
They even quite literally have a Help page on how to use Runelite in the Launcher:
https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/5664231262097-RuneLite-via-the-Launcher
Idk what sketchy fake version of the client you or your friends have used, but clearly you went to the wrong place.
Now I do know some very gullible players have been tricked into downloading plugins that steal your info, but that's not the client's fault. That's like blaming Jagex because you clicked a dodgy youtube link. Jagex explicitly states that the plugins that come default with the client are supported. Just don't be going to any backwater sites downloading plugins; If you can't find it in the Plugin Hub in the client, then it's not safe and likely will get you hacked or banned.

If it's not in the unmodified game then it doesn't count as a solution. This is stuff directly interfering with people's ability to use in game content so it's not something that can really be ignored. That's a pretty significant part of why people keep bringing it up and calling it harassment.

no support, I bought the ring for the purpose of being large and in your face.
How about you stop doing things to deliberately annoy other players? In my opinion people like you should be banned for such behaviour. You should not be playing this game.
