They posted an explanation on Reddit. The respawn timer would start when the battle starts. It would be based on an expected time to finish the battle, and if you finish early you are punished with a longer wait.

It's not official, but basically in the stream they built the case for a change during the first 50 minutes then in the end drop these ideas.

If they are actually talking about nerfing the amount of certain drops, like those that have a range where it drops say 17-30 and you reduce that to 8-12 I am fine with that.

Exactly like they just did with Croesus, that's OK by me. In theory those drops will increase in value and balance out anyways.

TBH their explanation has me even more upset, so I am definitely going to avoid next week's promised livestream. I don't need the aggravation. If they make something that needs to be corrected later there is nothing I can do about that.

I can go back after the stream and just skip around anyways. It's way more efficient.

I just got a good example of nerfable drops. Kerapac normal mode for my reaper task. It's the supply drops that give multiples of an item. They are too generous.

Royal dragonhides. They will ultimately end up in my alch machine after crafting.
Dragonstones. Same.

Soul Runes, take what I need, sell the rest.
Cannonballs. Same.

Fire staffs go straight to the alch machine.

I don't even count the GP drops from bosses, because they go straight to the pouch. No idea. That includes spring cleaner which probably doesn't need to work on noted alchables. Because they are noted.

They can do Croesus style nerfs to bosses that have multiple item drops and I won't complain. The folks who sell every drop won't be as thrilled though. The other side of that, the players who buy resources to process would also see their happiness meter drop. Presumably.

Are they nerfing Grardor because he drops a bunch of alchables? I don't get it. Bob says:
A bank PIN will keep your items secure.
Always check the second trade screen.
Never trade in the Wilderness!
Keep your computer keylogger-free and virus scanned.
Never give your password out to anyone.

I'm not even sure about Graardor, I am mentally checking out from the whole experience. Normally I would go re-watch it but I was way too angry.

I think they are saying Graardor was a bad example, and they meant bosses more like Vindicta. There is a long Reddit post explaining more.

Right now it is like halfway down the page on HOT topics. "Common Drops Stream: summary and key clarification"

The boss respawn idea is even worse if you consider every kill time is not the same. On some bosses, sure I am dropping the same exact time with little variance. But others are more complicated and being able to hit an ability at the right moment can be a huge factor.

I'd also love to see their expected kill times for these bosses. Does this data exist? If not, how would they come up with it, who is the baseline? I'm not interested in the fastest kills or the slowest ones. Even if they had the expected time for one boss, that would give me something to work with.

What really fries me is the entire concept of PVM players being in it only for the money. If that's true, Jagex is a willing participant. But you have to consider for a lot of players it MUST be true. If you need 20 billion GP to reach end-game how the heck are you supposed to get it?

By winning rare tradeables on TH?

Part of the problem comes down to this: what does a top end PVM player do with their GP? Once you have all the gear?

Instead of sinking their gold, the plan is to spread the wealth.

A great example is the essence of finality. I just recharged one 50% and it was like 17-18M. The game could have swallowed that gold, but it is instead used as money making methods for other players.

That's cool, because I am also making some of that money, but other players are processing them into tradeable products. You won't see me farming invention components unless I am forced into it.

If you consider taking features like that away and making gold sinks instead, I can come to only one logical conclusion.

Increased death costs. Imagine that.

Consider the entire player base was taxed so those top end players could get basically free deaths and you can join me in wondering what the heck is going on.

Even better, they were suggesting that players stop using their best gear to save money, which would be a negative for so much other content that provide materials for 'recipes.' such as the alchemical hydrix mentioned above.

Why do I make myself suffer through this? I should be watching cartoons or something. If they are not careful this whole game can crash down on itself.

I'm also now reminded that Jagex said they would monitor the changes related to death costs and nothing else should be expected in the near future. Crazy!

Did the professional economists recommend this path? I would ask for a refund. Same with the accessibility experts. Y'all was overcharged.

Greed is running out of time and of 'borrowed time'. Jagex messed up, followed the wrong motives so...bad things will start to happen.

Ideas to fix the game properly are hard to find, i stated many fixes that went unread as jagex doesn't read them. 'i only warn people once' after that it's their downfall event that is their fault.

It's not 'game over' but jagex will have 'fun' dealing with what they did. I don't feel like giving spoilers, i find these 'events' to be funny. "everyone has a choice and what motivates them to design something; update for players to enjoy OR update for players to Pay2Skip, loyalty is everything in the end"

It at started with Tierscape, removed the need for many low level gears and than invention was designed to keep these gears in demand but players no longer need cheap invention XP it NULLS itself as a temp fix. Only creating more messes and more things new players are going to have to deal with and most likely quit the game after a bit seeing the game is MTX this and MTX that, these days.

;)

-----

Jagex has one fetal flaw, most games with this level of MTX are FREE, All they did was throw all forms of MTX into a pot and mixed it up into a sloppy mess. logically it makes no sense, on top of that they hardy update things 'properly', where did all the money go from that MTX? most companies would have used that to enhance the game further.

^honestly doesn't give off a good vibe. "But they are a company, they need to make money" people that follow that viewing need to wake up.

motives of creation speak volumes from the paintings they draw, I can decode these drawings and the answers within aren't what any company wants anyone to find out :P
