A quick word on pressure. Pressure is releasing this knowing we have just enough time to super-grind the weekly reward before reset. That pressure is released by accepting failure and not pushing the grind, which would lead to "missed it by that much."
The opposite of pressure is allowing players to double-dip the daily challenges with Vis Wax, so you could complete the weekly progress in half the number of days.
Being rewarded a full game session of progress from the login bonus. It was scientifically designed and molded to be player friendly. To increase engagement, which is suddenly pressure because they disagree with the balance. (AKA key sales)
Daily login bonuses are meant to be highly rewarding. Overpowered, whatever word you choose. Giving too much is a terrible idea, but what is too much? We've definitely been there, so it's not hard to compare.
I reckon key sales should have been suffering. When you get nothing worthwhile from the free keys why would you buy more? When buyers get too much wouldn't they buy less? Is the goal to get more from heavy buyers, or to have more buyers? Stacking multiple cosmetic promos during the Necro release went totally under the radar.
TH is stale, and the easiest way to revive that is to put the focus back on XP. It's already got the green light from the player base, so what could go wrong?
