If 'your version' of runelite you have is 'not approved' chances are that it will not be accepted.

You can only use 'Jagex approved versions of RuneLite'. Which also can be found on Jagex's OldSchool RuneScape website.

Well, you're out of luck then.

The Jagex Launcher is almost certain to become mandatory during 2024.

i have a similar issue i play RS3 on my upstairs PC with no issue.

yesterday i set up a new PC in my Cellar downloaded RS launcher

when i tried to log is as i do on this pc it asks for my email address as my username but my email is not my user name! i cant get past this option, the support pages do not have a topic for this! nor can i find a contact support email address.
Nor does the chat bot understand my issue. i have tried my email but it does not recognise the account.

can anyone help?

Are you accessing the game via the Jagex launcher or old RS launcher?

The Jagex launcher uses your email address to log into your Jagex account, where from you can select your username.

The old RS launcher asks for your username or email. Only accounts made before a certain date can type their username in, all others have to type in their email. This may not be the same email as the Jagex account email.
If you have already set up a Jagex account, you will no longer be able to log in using this method.


I hope this helps clarify what you are trying to do.
