"Dear 'Scapers,

The safety of our community is of paramount importance to us.

We will strive to create safe spaces where our community can enjoy our games without fear of abuse.

Everybody within our community is expected to abide by our code of conduct. Content creators who breach our code of conduct are not welcome in our game, at our events, or in our community - and we will take resolute action against those who do.

We will do our utmost to support anyone who has faced abuse."

Can anyone shed any light on what prompted this, and what the circumstances behind this are?
Especially this part:
"Content creators who breach our code of conduct"

Curious about this as I can find no additional information.

This part also drew my attention:
"We will do our utmost to support anyone who has faced abuse."

It is very serious, and very ominous.

Feel free to relocate this thread. Wasn't sure where to put it.

Apparently there's a lot going on with Twitch right now, not necessarily linked with RuneScape, but as a wider gaming community. A lot of this message resonates with the Twitch events, so I can only assume that this is what it's about.

If you want to know more, search for "Twitch abuse" on twitter. This should give you an indication of what's going on.

Ah. So it's a non-committal "cover our ass" statement.
Thought it was something the company actually cared about.

Hello Foxxie, do you mind telling me, where does this message does come from in the first place? For me, it is lacking context. :)

This article might provide some context. It refers to Twitch and to real-world gaming events:

Thank you Nubby Nubnub, geez did I miss something there. I was more occupied with putting up a fight with my ISP and went doing archery in the blazing hot sun for 2 straight hours. Lol.

The way I have read it now, multiple times, is that it is highly speculative for many of us but for the person/persons who are involved it will be this one & only warning before they get the boot.
Someone is rigging our safety in some way. O_o O_o O_o

Thanks Archaeox, I will not open it any further as my Ad Blocker advices against it. However, I do get it as it is humming the news more & more.
