I got really excited because I didn't think about the highlight feature to obtain the post ID. But then I also realised we can't get the ID for JMod posts as we can't highlight JMod posts. There is one particular JMod thread that I would find it particularly handy to quote from, but it's locked
The best solution (and a simple one) is to include the quote ID for each post embedded in a comment within the HTML. So those who need the ID can just take a quick peek at the source.
I'll add the information to the front page when I get some spare time Gidedin
