I think my first thread I ever created was way back when ge didn't exist so people were using forums to sell items. I leveled up my woodcutting to around 80 and wanted to see if people would buy all these yew logs off me. If I recall there wasn't as much sections in the forums and it was fairly easy to find the trade section but mass people were using it. Overall, I felt that I had gained a new useful tool when playing.

Initially I came to the forums for the marketplace sections. "Back in the day" there was no grand exchange, so the forums were a nice place to buy and sell items. Worlds 2 and 26 were difficult to get into, and those were the main trading hubs.

Was also nice because the forums served as a nice "price checking" utility... They still serve that purpose, in a way, but it's now in status threads and the threads making sales/buying items just say "offer your price" instead of setting the price.

As for what hooked me and kept me around... I've expressed this in other threads more recent than this one, but shortly, the HLC :)

I got very bored in game after maxing out Dungeoneering at release, and wanted to play some more 'mi**game' type content. I discovered the Minigames and D&Ds forums, and never left there since ^_^

I remember waaay back I made a thread requesting QP be added to the highscores. I was close to the quest cape and pretty pumped about it. It didn't last very long though, as a fmod locked it and directed me to another thread with many more responses about the same topic. I read that thread, gave it my full support, and then my curiosity got the better of me and I started to explore other forums and post in them as well. And the rest is history...

Goodness me, was so long ago I really can't recall.

I remember I used to venture onto the forums a lot when I first started. But I was f2p, and really just reading them to see how the latest content was being reviewed so I could talk about it with my school friends. Back then, most of my school played (as did a few other local schools) so it was fun to talk about stuff. We used to war with the other schools for fun, with set battle times and territory we could gain/lose. We had some epic battles.

As for my first actual post, I really don't know. I suspect I was either commenting on some new content, most likely a quest, or trying to provide answers. Some things never change, these are probably my two most common replies.

The oldest post I can recall making was on a thread called "Ubernoobed RS", now eaten by chewy, which was a thread where you posted stories about how ridiculously nooby you were (For example, I thought Mithril was Dark Rune as I'd seen Black/Blue wizard robes and sort of thought "Oh, everything has a good and evil version".) or other funny stories of amazing survival. I posted quite a few times, as RS was my first MMO, and I made probably every mistake you could make. Not that I'm learning very well, still make some to this day! :P
If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.

My first forum experience was back in 2011 on the dutch forum when they were still really active, my first impression was how kind everyone was to each other.

Sometimes i kinda miss those times.
Just read the instructions.

I think the first time I came on it was either by my cousin telling me to go there to advertise our White Berry Picking business, or by randomly clicking buttons on the homepage until I arrived here (and then advertising our White Berry Picking business.)

Immediately got capsulated by the Roleplaying Forums, read through eighty pages of posts on a single thread because I didn't realise you could just skip over them if you wanted. That was ten years ago, and I'm still posting there today! I think what I appreciated the most about the forums when I first came was the Runescape-specific smilies. They were all wearing Bob the Jagex Cat hats and I thought that was the coolest thing in the world. (RIP Bobhats #BringBackCatHat2015)

My best moment on the forums would have to be my completion of my roleplay The Final Quest. It was an intricate story spanning several months of real time, with thousands upon thousands of words used, over twenty-six active characters, (which was most of the roleplaying forum at that time,) and full of hilarity, adventure and good times. Here is the link to The Final Quest in case anyone wants to take a read, or you can stop by the Story and Roleplaying Chat Thread for a casual conversation or if you want to learn more about roleplaying or share stories of your own!

The thing that's really kept me here all these years is the Runescape community; you guys rock! I love meeting new people, talking to them, sharing mutual interests and all around having a good time. So if anyone wants to join our little community, then please do so! I look forward to seeing some new faces around :-)
